Didn't see this on the board.

Some interesting stuff:
"My starters would be Mike Iltis at center, Ryan Miller and Blake Behrens at guard and Nate Solder and Bryce Givens at tackle. Maybe Miller plays tackle and Givens plays guard."

I'm thinking miller-solder at OT and iltis at center. The guards may start out head and behrens but could be givens and tuioti by big 12 in week 5, if max stays healthy.

Givens will start week one. The kid has put on the lbs and should be ready to roll. I'm really excited to see him this spring.

I'm with Valdez....the only thing that will keep Givens from starting against CSU will be injuries...the guy exudes talent and looks to be working hard in the weight room & cafeteria

Only a few years removed from having 6 O-linemen in camp, wouldn't it be nice to have the flexibility to move a 6'8" 310lb 5-star tackle to guard to make room for a new stud tackle?? These are the problems we want to have!

On Rivals it was said that Givens is up to 290. I'm hoping we see Givens at Tackle. Miller struggles with speed rushers.

I am not sure Miller has the athleticism to be a pulling guard, whereas I always heard Givens had plenty of quickness to pull - just not enough size. I think they need to find a way to get Givens on the field.

Not that I care for hype :smile2: but, a couple people who I've gone to countless cu games with and stay close say this kid is going to be a beast. Don't worry, I give them crap too

Seriously,if this OL can stay healthy,we have some guys who are flat out nasty and mean out there, that's what we need, some players who just hate anyone on the other side of the ball and play with attitude.

I don't doubt Miller's athleticism (see State Championship game that he ran down Mullen's Aguilar). However, there are very few 6'8" guards out there. Miller belongs at tackle. If anything, Givens will surplant Solder...IMHO.

I don't know. I agree with you about Miller's athleticism. But I don't see Solder going anywhere either. These rumors of Miller going to guard are surprising.

I expect Givens to be a guard just because you have to get that kid on the field somehow. And, imo, the weakest part of the line is at the guard positions.

:yeahthat:

My thoughts exactly.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Solder, MTM, Iltis, Givens, and Miller across the line. That's a very solid line. And with Head, Behrens, Bahr, Atkins, Daniels, & Tau providing depth, the pieces are in place for an extremely effective offensive line.
