Bill Snyder's future?

KSU fans aren't exactly delirious about the leader of the JUCO banditios return. Anybody know how old this guy is? Part of the reason he retired was health problems - at his age, they don't improve. The schedule isn't easy at UCLA in the non-con, at OU and TT. Could we be looking at a Ragin Cajun upset in Lafayette?
Sat, Sep 05 Massachusetts Manhattan, Kan. TBA
Sat, Sep 12 Louisiana at Lafayette, La. TBA
Sat, Sep 19 UCLA at Pasadena, Calif. TBA

Tennessee tech? Same old k-state.

Two 1-AA teams, definitely same old Snyder. But I would not be surprised if they come out of that non-conference schedule at 2-2. UCLA on the road should be tough enough, but Louisiana-Lafayette is an okay team and they took the Purple Pussies to the wire in Manhattan last season.

I think K-State is headed for a complete crash. That five-game stretch to end the season is brutal.

i read an article a few days ago that detailed Snyder embracing the "new technologies" for recruiting, like email.

ahead of the curve....at least the power towel wasn't on his watch.

KSU is going to go 2-10, maybe 3-9. Bill is in for a nasty surprise.

I also don't see it improving. The rest of the Big 12 is widening the gap at this time, and I think KSU is going to fall behind in recruiting really bad with Snyder at the helm. I don't think that it is coincidence that historically KSU has struggled terribly to be even competitive. I don't see lightning striking a second time for them in the near future.

Recruiting high school players was never a strength for Snyder, he lived and died with JUCO players. It will be interesting to see if he keeps this trend his second time around. Rivals says he's 69 years old, and is just learning to use the computer, he used a typewriter until very recently. I didn't think they sold typewriters anymore.

Not even Chicago ones? ;)

LOL, even Snyder has located "the Internets"

Did everyone see that K-State is trying to get out of their Miami (FL) home and home (20011-12)? Ahh, good old K-State, wasn't the same without you Bill.

That's almost as bad as Jerry Sloan. A buddy of mine sent me this the other day... I found it pretty hilarious: http://blogs.sltrib.com/jazz/2009/03/jerry-sloan-and-twitter.htm

One of the local television stations asked Sloan about Charlie Villanueva sending a tweet (update) from the locker room at halftime of Milwaukee's game Sunday against Boston and the resulting fallout with Bucks coach Scott Skiles.

"I don't follow that," Sloan said. "I don't even have a computer. I don't know how to turn one on. I don't know what you're talking about. I'm going to be totally honest. How would you do that?"

Except that schedule was made like 6 to 8 years ago. ???

They are actively trying to jetison games against The U...

KjSU will be trying to win with pretty much any athlete who couldn't get a D! scholly somewhere else. It won't be pretty.

I was wondering how KSU can financially servive playing Tennessee Tech's and road games at Louisiana, Lafayette. Interesting that "Sweet Lew" Perkins has the largest AD base salary of $900,000. Nebraska has the 2nd largest budget -proof money doesn't always guarantee success.

Rumor has it that he's trying to schedule a home and home against that national powerhouse known as The Little Sisters of the Poor!

Least we forget that Ron Prince recruited 19 JUCO's last year. And we all know how well that worked out. Also, Slick Rick at UCLA did'nt exactly set the world on fire with his alma mater last year. So it wouldn't be to much of a stretch to see KSU win that game this year. However, they are keeping tradition with their rival (KU) by scheduling cupcake teams.

His house of cards will tumble when they start their conference schedule
