Good Interview

Great comments by DS. I am really looking forward to seeing what he can do this year with Speedy and our line.

Hopefully our QBs numbers are something like 14 of 18, 170 yds, 1 TD, O INT. If that happens then our running game could hopefully get about 300 yards a game. I am all for passing, but I would rather have a running game that sets up the pass than a passing game that sets up the run.

Not to be a negative nancy or to doubt because i think he will be stronger and better
but this was the same attitude he had coming in last year and he still showed up out of shape

The difference is that he's not 'showing up' this year. He's here and is working out just like all the other players in the S&C program.

This are not even the same train of thought.

In one you are saying that he'd better not show up out of shape (reportedly he's in the single digit for body fat and 20 pounds lighter)

Then you go on to mention what will happen if he gets hurt. I don't get it.

sorry i was generalizing about the attitude. He had the same attitude when he was interviewed shortly after he committed. Then we heard disturbing things from hagan saying he wasnt putting the effort in. i just wanna see how he reacts thats all and your right it was pretty damn convoluted so for that i apologize

I'm not worried about Scott at all. The fact that he's in the shape he's in now and his acknowledgment that he did not perform the way he wanted to last year shows me he's doing everything he can to be the stud we all think he can be. He's obviously put the time in with Pitt and he's dedicated himself to being a better blocker as well. There's always the concern of injury for a runningback, but that's not in anyone's control so why stress about it?

well i was more talking about his apparent unwillingness to play through them but you raise a valid point

Early on last year I agree that he didn't seem want to play a little dinged (Hagan called him out on this), but come the end of the year, all those injuries really affected his play but he seemed to give it everything he had.

thats what i was trying to get at all valid points sorry for the confusion

Everything in college is a quantum leap above high school. From classes, to studying, to partying, to what is considered 'in-shape'. I'm sure he thought he was in shape, only to find out when he got here that he was nowhere near where he needed to be.

DS will be in shape. I just hope he can stay healthy and show us what he can do.

Everything about this thread, except for the opening link, sucks. I wish I'd never read it.

Matt, is there a way to warn others about a suck-ass thread? I'd hate for anybody else to read this thing.

lets not forget that DS came in as the #1 running back in the nation. even before he stepped out on the field he had a higher standard to live up too. he came in ridding on that he was the best, and no one even knew about Speedy yet.......this yr will be different for him, he will be ready to prove why he was the #1 running back last, it will be fun to watch......GO BUFFS!!!!!!!

I am just shocked that ESPN and Tim Griffin acknowledged that CU and the Big 12 North exists.

Tim Griffin is a HACK! It was more than likely a phone interview and hopefully someday espn will see through all the biased reporting he does:sad2:, and see him for what he really is! A really bad and all things texass sports journelist.
