Request: Post-spring CU depth chart

Can someone provide a two-deep for me? Even if it's not official from the staff, if it's just your opinion based off of news, stuff you've heard from spring practice, etc.

Thanks.

Re: Request: Post-spring CU dpeth chart

Goodman's terrible. I bet Grossnickle takes over by the end of the season.

I heard MT-Mariner is basically done for. 3 ACL tears on one knee and another of the other knee. Truth?

Losing Mohler still chaps my ass. Stud.

Is Mahnke really that good?

Pretty good...I would change a few things.

-Scott and Stewart will get the most carries.

-Burney and Smith start at corner, C. Brown will be the nickel back.

-Sipili and Burton are in the mix at MLB, Smart and Mohler are fighting for outside.

-I think that Goree looks like a starter for now, with Taj off the pine.

-Too many true freshmen in that list, but unfortunitly that still looks like it might be the case.

Re: Request: Post-spring CU dpeth chart

Dusty - I don't think MTM is done by any means. 2 ACL's in one knee, one on the other. Supposed to be ready to go in the fall.

And I don't know what you heard about Mohler, but he's still here.

Dusty is a Husker.

Re: Request: Post-spring CU dpeth chart

I hate waiting. :(

I know what you mean. The coaches are easing him back into practice so he is a bit behind. Plus LB is one position where we have several upperclassmen, so he'll have to bide his time a little bit. Once he gets back into the swing of things, look out.

I don't understand the hate for Cha'pelle Brown. He was honorable mention Big-12 last year and easily our best tackling DB, not to mention one of the hardest working IMO. Burney is good but I'm not sure he will fully recover from 5 offseason surgeries and a wrist that had been operated on numerous times before. Cha'pelle=stud IMO

trust me, I have no hate for Cha'pelle. he is one of my favorite players on the team. But I think that he is the nickel, which in the Big XII is as good as starting now. He will play plenty, as most teams go three wide as a base set now adays.

Your depth chart at punter should probably include Grossnickle.
He was All Colorado punter this year.
Hawkins was clear that he brought this particular kid on board because he could kick and punt, and nobody knew which was going to be needed until fall rolls around.

Re: Request: Post-spring CU dpeth chart

According to the first list, we will have a 4 star RB playing safety and a 5 star RB punting.

I think they are practicing some interesting plays with Scott, but I can't believe he'll be punting regularly.

Let's hope DiLallo comes on strong.

Fourth and 5 from their 45. Sounds good to me.

Re: Request: Post-spring CU dpeth chart

Flame not necessary. Just asking a question dude.

I think that he will be. He is not the fastest guy in the world, but he will pop people. I liked him a lot last year when he was in. Definite upgrade from last year.

What flame? You recall, I assume, his plays in the second half of last year's game in Lincoln. That, to me, was quite impressive for a true freshman with little game experience. I expect him to be very good for the buffs.

As has been noted, he's not the fastest, but he hits like a truck and seems to be able to shed blockers on running plays or when blitzing.
