We have probably discussed this in various threads throughout the offseason, but let's hear your choices after Spring ball is done and summer workouts rapidly approaching. One offensive and one defensive player. No exceptions.

Offense: Simas

Defense: Beatty

I'll skip the guys who are fun to watch, but I know exactly how they'll do (Beatty, etc). My list are the guys I want to see the upside of the new guys.

Offense:
1. Power Runners (all of them)
2. New WR's from class of 2009 (whichever play), and Simas.
3. Miller at guard
4. Hansen if he plays. MTM also if he plays.

Defense
1. Jon Major
2. Doug Rippy
2. Mahnke

I'm going to say that watching the O-line (tackles, gaurds,& center) will be the most interesting part. I think they know that they can be very good.

As for defense, I'm with Buffaholic on that one. However, the D-line may end up getting more attention.

I wouldn't say excited, but I'm very interested in tracking our FG kicker's performance next year.

O: The 4 headed monster @ RB
D: Curtis Cunningham...If he takes another step in the right direction off of last year he'll be a monster in the middle

Offense: Rodney Stewart
Defense: Cha'pelle Brown

Rodney is coming off of his freshmen of the year award. He was the most exciting player on offense last season. Rodney was just one guy away from breaking loose. I'm looking forward to Rodney living up to his big play potential, and for a complete recovery from his broken leg caused by Von Miller's illegal horse collar tackle at A&M.

Cha'pelle has been battling with an intestinal paracite and missed a lot of Spring ball. He was an undersized back who was challenged by a pass happy conference, and he largely held his own. I'm looking for some int's and some lock down from Mr. Brown.

Both Stewart and Brown have shown great character, and are quality team players.

heard that one of the kicker walkons pulled a muscle and was kicking with his opposite leg during spring game warmups. (Neither walkon kicked in the spring game.)

But he's supposed to be decent when healthy.

Goodman looked better than both the walk=ons, in pregame warmups anyway, and Davis wasn't able to kick yet.

Offense: Man I don't know, just the thought of any play beyond 20 yards gets me excited. Well a play that's twenty yards positive I mean, the Cody Hawkins Shuffle-Sack or a pick six not so much.

Defense: Jimmy Smith, sick ass corner play is always awesome.

From what I saw at practice Goodman is far far better than the walk-on K's.

Offense:
Darrell Scott

Defense:
One of the young DL (Cunningham, Obi). We are really gonna need them to step up

O: Simas, Scott, and Hawkins, yes Hawkins. I think he will be better than he was in 2007 if the line is as mean as it sounds.

D: Smith, Nuckols, Mohler and Rippy. Jimmy Smith is gonna be a Thorpe Award finalist.

On offense - Simas, Scott & Speedy close second
On defense - Burney - I still think people overlook him and I think he's going to have an impressive year.

Offense- Scott, I think it would be huge for recruiting future backs if he becomes a star here.

Defense- Excited about a bunch of guys but I really like Smith. He has an NFL body and the talent to back it up. Thinking back, I hope he can become like a Figures or Hudson. However, those some big shoes to fill.

Scott, because if the OL is as good as we think it is, holes will open and his ability will shine.

Major, because we need to have an impact on the DL, and I want to see the local talent shine.
