Alright, there's nothing going on around here, so here are some pics of the new stadium on campus. I'm moving about two blocks away from there in a couple months. Can't wait for the Buffs to play there in 2012!

I think it's great to see a team moving back on campus. Not only that, sharing a stadium with the local pro team is weak, especially when it's a dark, dreary dome.

pretty sweet. Stanford's new crib (a couple years old) is nifty, too.

Except on game day, when it's half empty. If you think the Buffs have trouble filling the stadium, it could be worse. Stanford's stadium is brand new (although they built the entire thing in a single offseason, so I wouldn't exactly call it world class) and they have a hard time giving tickets away unless USC comes to town.

Harbaugh has done wonders on the recruiting trail, but there's still work to do at Stanford.

They had a promotion last year where season ticket holders could get a complete refund if they weren't happy with the product on the field.

My step-dad and my old HS football coach have had season tix for 35 years for the gophers - They've got 4 seats at the 45 yard line 19 & 20 rows up on the aisle. They paid the money this year to keep them but since there's probally no alcohol being served they are pissed. If they don't pay the extra donation next year they were told that they will be moved to the endzone. It's a nice stadium but it will be cold in November when they play iowa.

Yea but after being in the dome all those years the fans will get a shock. I'm glad it's back on campus, next up a new basketball arena for Tubby Smith.

That's the way football should be in November!

I hope they just gut it and redo it like they are going to do at Pauley Pavillion. The problem is they can't remodel it unless it's a total renovation because of the fire code. They have gotten all the variences they can for past re-models and the fire marshalls said no more. At least that's what my step-dad told me he read in the star-tribune.

Here's what 180 million renovation buys you at UCLA.

So they have an "M" on one side and a "W" on the other... They sure show a lot of respect for Badger fans!:smile2:

HA!

Wow I didn't even know they were building a new stadium. I don't like football teams that play in a dome. Now the Gophers are off that list.

Anybody remember when we almost lot to Minny and Duke Tobin of all people was the buffs QB. I think it was '92.

Sounds about right for the year, I recall a Ketmer-led comeback win up there.

I totally agree about the dome part, watching or going to a game in a dome is dark and cavernous. Shame on Syracuse for moving out of a classic old football stadium and replacing it with a lame-ass dome. :sad2: And on Pitt for moving out of an on-campus stadium into a atmosphere-free pro stadium.

Detmer gave a flash of what kind of QB he would be when he came in...Playing in that dome was a surreal experience. We beat them 63 to 3 the year before in Boulder.

only "dome" football i've seen were two Sugar Bowls i attended with my dad (when his company used to have Nokia contracts and we got some freebies), LSU-Illinois in 01 and LSU-OU in 03. great weekends but the Superdome blows. indoor football in air-conditioning and carpeted ramps to your section=bad.

Sure do. Tobin started the game, but Detmer came in after the half and led the heroics. One of the best comebacks in CU history took place in that dome.

they're recruiting really well in texas, which is pretty odd.

Not odd with Brewster's ties down there, but very odd considering the difference in weather. The Texas people I went to CU with always complained about the winter (thing is, most of them didn't understand that in order to be able to drive their parents' 4Runner up to Vail to ski, we needed moisture in the form of snow) so I can't imagine many of the players enjoying the Minnesota winters too much.

Minnesota is recruiting non qualifiers well.

Apparently they are having trouble getting alcohol oked for their premium seats and suites.

Brewster is a guy for CU fans to keep an eye on in the future. He could be lured back to the Denver area with the right offer IMO.
