This guy is really blowing up. I bet SC offers

Re: '10 CA QB Jesse Scroggins

It is going to be really interesting to see how the QB dominoes fall. Heaps, Scroggins, Hinder, and others are all going to have an effect on each other because many of the same schools are recruiting them all.

Offers pouring in for QB Scroggins
Thursday, May 21, 2009

Posted by Greg Biggins
It has been an exciting couple of days for Lakewood (Calif.) quarterback Jesse Scroggins. On Tuesday, the signal caller picked up a scholarship offer from his top local school and then the national champs came calling on Thursday.

Scroggins has tremendous physical tools and a very big upside. His film is as good as we've seen and according to Lakewood coach Thad MacNeal, every school that has come by the campus has offered.

Re: '10 CA QB Jesse Scroggins

It was looking like Cal had a good shot before Hinder committed, now I think he goes to the Vols. He has some family down there apparently

Re: '10 CA QB Jesse Scroggins

Gonna be USC most likely. The rich get richer. They most likely will be getting his teammate Dion Bailey (4* safety) as well.

Re: '10 CA QB Jesse Scroggins (Committed to USC)

I know USC is a recruiting juggernaut, but it's amazing they get a QB commitment like this with Corp, Mustain, and Barkley on the roster. There's a good chance you won't play until your senior year.

Re: '10 CA QB Jesse Scroggins (Committed to USC)

Yeah, but if you're USC you get to make this pitch:

"If you come to USC, we'll win the Pac-10 every year and be in the mix for the National Championship. After each season, our QB will likely be a 1st round NFL draft pick. But if you don't come to USC, we'll win the Pac-10 every year and be in the mix for the National Championship. After each season, our QB will likely be a 1st round NFL draft pick. You're our first choice at QB. Do want to be the guy we recruit this year or is someone else gonna get to be the man?"

No doubt. But you could also look at a guy like Mustain who was the #1 QB in his recruiting class, and he may never see the filed his entire time at USC.

Then they'll tell him about a career backup who just signed a six-year, $63 million contract, including $28 million guaranteed and $40.5 million in the first three seasons.

And that's just damn hard to argue with.

I forget his name, but even their 2nd string guy who never started at USC took over an NFL starting job. That's serious history. Oops, I think that's the same guy Valdezj referred to...

From ESPN Insider: http://insider.espn.go.com/ncf/features/rumors?date=20100112#1581

"The Tennessee Volunteers may be gaining from USC's loss. Four-star QB Jesse Scroggins gave USC a deadline of Saturday morning until he decides to go elsewhere, the Los Angeles Times reports.

And Volunteers fans are abuzz because they feel as if they have the best chance to land him. Scroggins may also considering Florida, LSU, COLORADO and Nebraska.
USC's recruits are frustrated that there is no information coming out of the school. This is because assistants don't know where they're going to land and the school can't comment on recruiting. Meanwhile, USC's targeted coaches keep falling through.

Scroggins likely wants a stable program that will be contending for a championship in 2012, because he told the Times he wants to win a BCS Championship by then."

I'm guessing Tennessee just went off his radar....
