I'm feeling better about the prospect of Cody starting

With Simmons & Simas playing, plus Geer, McKnight, Lock, Speedy & Scott, whoever is the quarterback should have a lot of targets. With the O-line being the monsters they are, the QB will have some time to find his receivers. This offense has the potential to be something very special, even if Cody is the guy taking the snaps. There's a TON of talent on the offensive side of the ball this year. A TON.

The potential is there, but let's not downplay the fact that Simas and Simmons have caught a combined 0 balls for the Buffs.

The line looks great on paper. Hopefully Denver can have them gelling this year.

Solder - Behrens(?) - Iltis - Miller - Givens

The only question is at LG. I think Behrens should finally step up and lock it down. Too bad MTM re-injured his knee. This could be a line that rivals the 2001 and early 1990's lines. :drink:

Okay. Maybe we're not at that level quiet yet. The OL units from the early 90's were amazing.

A healthy tuioti-mariner and maiava at center would be even better :smile2:

Way to keep it levelheaded, potential doesn't equal results. They will have to prove themselves on the field before I start drinking that Kool-Aid.

I have a really good feeling about this years offense. Overall this is the most talented group of guys we have had in a loooooong time on the offensive side of the ball. Simas and Simmons provide something we didn't even have last year. Add in a healthy and in shape Scott and Speedy, look out! O-line allows these guys to do their thing and we are in good shape!

**** YA 2009 could be special!

I am afraid that if I clicked a link from you I would somehow appruptly get shoved out of a plane door at 10,000 feet, armed with a K-bar knife and a parachute wrapped up in duct tape.:wow:

At least you guys really know how to extend a joke...I'll give you that.

Yes, yes we do. While it may not seem so right now to you, eventually you will find out that it is one of the qualities that makes Allbuffs so endearing. (Just ask Unleash Hell about the clock for confirmation on that)

The offense does not even need to be special. Even if we're just middle of the pack in the conference, it is a huge improvement.

The offense last year was trash. Didn't we average 14 points in conference? We can only improve

MTM will be missed, I think that if he could stay healthy he would be an absolute dominator. Hopefully he takes his mission and gives his knees a chance to really heal up and get strong. From what I have read his injuries have been the type that given enough time and rehab work he can come back and have a long and productive career with.

Kai is a guy who you have to love his effort and nasty attitude on the field but I don't see any way he would be seeing substantial time unless Itis were to get hurt and even then I think the coaches would look another direction. His run blocking is outstanding, he is a tremendously strong kid with good feet and a willingness to go after anyone. The trouble is that he is a short guy (UCLA list him as 6'1", he is not that tall) with short arms. Once Big XII schools got some film on him they figured out that you could get hands to his body easily and turn him. He was getting beat badly on pass blocking assignments even by average level Big XII D-linemen. I don't know if the UCLA coaches think that they can coach some technique to overcome this but I don't think so.

I don't see him as being a better option as a backup than Stephans and I think that Shawn Daniels future might be at Center. Of course if Simon gets in for January our future at the position will look a lot more solid.
