I know there is already a Quad (NYT) thread ...

... but this stat about the Cornhuskers deserves its own thread.

"Since Nebraska's memorable home win over Oklahoma in 2001, the Huskers join Duke as the only B.C.S. Conference programs to have not defeated a top 20 team. Nebraska is 0-24 since, though it does have one win over a top 25 opponent (by 25-17 over then-No. 24 Pittsburgh in 2004 ..."

The wording in the article is awkward, but the point is one that should be memorized and utilized by all who deal with Nebraska trolls: 0-24 v. ranked teams since 2001. (Of course, the first game of the streak was 62-36)

The 0-24 stat isn't completely accurate, but it is close. I know they beat #20 Michigan in the Alamo Bowl in 2005 and I know they had a couple more wins over teams ranked between 20 and 25 (Iowa St, A&M I believe).

All you have to say is the Huskers haven't beaten a team ranked higher then 20 since 2001. It's a great stat to throw out there.

The distinction is that they have not beat anyone who has ended up ranked in the top 25 at the end of the year. Whatever, though. They suck donkey ball.

Interesting that for all the contributions they make their are no posts from any of our red friends on either of the threads dealing with this subject

Yup, them and Duke. Steele also mentioned it in his magazine:

"The only 2 BCS teams that haven't beaten a top 19 team since November of 2001 are Duke and *ebraska."

Its a fact, there is nothing anyone could say that would change it. Another fact is that we still own the scoreboard. :haha:
