Blackout game... Kansas or Mizzou?

Q: When's this year's blackout game?
A: It has yet to be determined; we're hoping for a home night game, since the last two times it gave the stadium a unique look (Florida State in '07, West Virginia last year). Won't happen in September this time around, but it could happen for either the Kansas or Missouri games in October if one is selected for an evening (5 p.m. or later) start. You need that combination of dusk/night with it warm enough since most black items people own tend to be t-shirts; though I spotted a couple of tuxedos worn by students last year.

So sayeth Plati... http://www.cubuffs.com//ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=600&ATCLID=204771449

Don't want it to be kNU (thats a traditional one dammit!)... but unless either of these teams is ranked... pfft. Save it for a year.

Has to be KU, Mizzou is Oct 31 so there is already a build in theme for that game.

KU, and who cares about if Ku wont be rankd or not. This is a nice tradition starting that we should do every year. Plus, KU WILL be a big game this year.

I don't give a crap if they're ranked or not, I want to beat both of those teams badly. KU seems logical.

And you're saying that theme is taking it up the ass???? :wow::smile2:

I'd go with Mizzou. Black and halloween go together well. And black is easy to work into a costume for those that want to go that way....

Well, I do hope the Buffs take it up the ass a few times this year, not Oct 31 tho.

Hopefully it's KU. That would mean that CU started well enough for the network to want it moved to the evening. (Read 4-0 with the decision made prior to the Texas game.)

What good would it do to have a blackout game against a team that wears black?

Gotta be KU.

Can't argue with that, besides KU is the best team in the North. The only reason alot of writers are picking Nebraska is out of habit - nothing to back it up except for tradition. I would be completely surprised if the "Fat Man" does not hang 40 or more on the Pink Skirts in Lawrence.

Well since mizzou has their color version of the black & gold, I'd would say the blackout game should be against the kitty kats.

I say it SHOULDA been Colo St., if not it should be Mizzou.

I only say that because Kansas is family weekend, and it may be more difficult to get everyone to follow the memo.

If not, Tex A&M or Nebraska. But the weather vs. Nebraska may make it difficult.

The Mizzou game is on Halloween and is on homecoming.

A blackout only works when everyone participates. There's too much going on to call a blackout for the Tiggers.

I like blackouts when they are under the lights. If KU gets the evening spot, then I'm okay with the blackout. Otherwise, if there are no night games in Boulder, save it for siNUs.
