[FONT=arial,helvetica,sans-serif]Derrick Clark begins his third year on the Colorado coaching staff bringing a wealth of coaching and playing experience spanning over 12 years. Clark enters his fifth year under the tutelage of CU head coach Jeff Bzdelik with three years with the Buffaloes and two successful years at the Air Force Academy.[/FONT]

[FONT=arial,helvetica,sans-serif]Clark is responsible for off-campus recruiting, scouting the opposition, the Jeff Bzdelik Basketball Summer Camps, and the day-to-day operations of the Buffaloes basketball program.[/FONT]

[FONT=arial,helvetica,sans-serif]Clark, 38, was an integral part of the Falcon’s coaching success helping the Academy to appearances in the NCAA Tournament (2005-06) and National Invitational Tournament Final Four (2006-07). The Falcons accumulated an impressive 50-16 (.758) record and a 22-10 (.688) Mountain West Conference record, both are school-bests over a two-year span in school history.

[FONT=arial,helvetica,sans-serif]Prior to the Academy, Clark spent eight seasons from 1997 through 2005 with the Metro State basketball program, including the last five as a full-time assistant coach. He oversaw Metro State’s recruiting efforts, the development of post players and office administration. He also handled all the travel arrangements and worked with academics and scouting.

[FONT=arial,helvetica,sans-serif]Clark was vital in the Roadrunners’ transformation into a Division II powerhouse. He helped the Roadrunners and former head coach Mike Dunlap capture two NCAA Division II championships (1999-2000 and 2001-02) and three other trips to the Division II Elite Eight, including a runner-up finish in 1998-99. I didn't know Clark coached under Dunlap at Metro. I always thought he got his coaching career started at AF.

Cool! Hopefully Dunlap will keep him on his staff so we can maintain continuity in 2010-2011. :wink2:
