Anybody else here remember "Burgers N' Stuff"?

I loved that place after a game. Get one of those monster burgers with curly fries and a coke - heaven. The perfect drunk food. I was sad to see them go.

You're right thunderbird was & is too expensive...

Fatty J's was great back when it was on the Hill, nothin better than some blunts after a game. Illegal Pete's was also a solid drunken after-game option (hopefully it still is - been a while since I've had the pleasure)

I worked at fatty j's. Medium pizza, fat sticks, and two cokes for 10.75 was THE deal.

Sink has the best burger IMO

VG burgers is ****ing gross

West End Tavern also has delicious burgers.

Mountain Sun also has great burgers

Southern/Mountain Sun = AMAZING Burgers and GREAT beer. Excellent combo

I like to go to BJ's on Pearl Street after the games sometimes. It is a chain but they have good food and some nice microbrews.

 Yes. Can't go wrong with anything on their menu.

The fried egg and hamburger at the Darkhorse is my favorite.

i agree both the Mountain/Southern Sun are quality establishments. i spend my money there, unlike the Walnut and such.

good food, good beer. West End has a good burger too, as someone mentioned above. otherwise, Boulder is not a great burger/fries town. Tom's is missed.

i always thought Tom's was a little overrated but it was a good burger/fries that wasn't 13$.

Oh yeah? Cool. Dollar slices again? We got rid of the dollar slices when we moved into that hotel bar. Any idea if Lisa, Jay, or Jason are still owners?

i used to drink in that bar from time to time when golf majors were on TV (i don't watch TV or pay for cable until football and hoops), my landlord was doing a lot of renovation in my place in the daytime (a few blocks on the other side of 36), etc. you could tell that was a bad move and that location was never going to work.

it was great if you were on an academic schedule and beer-thirty was noon in the summer but the place was always empty. great, though, if you wanted to hang with the bartender and rock Ride the Lightening and no one really came in.

i remember Lisa, she was a taking no **** kind of chick. hot, too. if it's the same Lisa.

i think the new fatty's location is a different owner....not sure about that all. just a feeling i have.

Yeah, Lisa most certainly did not take any ****. But she was super cool and nice. Another bit of Fatty J's trivia for you. That guy that owned the bar was this Irish guy (hence the name - The Nutty Irishman) that ended up getting busted for money laundering in Canada.

Also, when we first moved into the new digs there was a rule that you couldn't smoke weed in there. That lasted all of about one day and the rule was amended so that you could only smoke weed in the walk-in cooler. I still don't understand how we never got busted for smoking weed in the old location as the police dept was directly above us.

that's pretty funny. i worked in professional kitchens all through the 90's in Lake Tahoe and Boulder as a sous-chef, dishwasher and everything in between (the med, antica roma)...and we used to puff all the time in the alleys and in the walk-in. in Tahoe, there was a lot of coke in kitchens which was not my thing for work. i liked the Nutty Irishman, it was as close to "a blue collar" bar as you could get in Boulder back inna day. i used to go there on Fridays when i got done teaching recitations....good times.

now that i'm older, out of grad school, and with a semi-respectable job i realize how much i miss cheap, hot waitress sex. comma is prolly not necessary.
