Allbuffs ticket lottery

OK, for the sake of many of the new members, I'll explain the deal. Allbuffs.com has a set of two season tickets. The rules are as follows:

Any registered member of the board is eligible for the tickets.
Enter for as many games as you want, but you can only win tickets to one game per year.
To be considered, respond to one of the ticket lottery threads in the Tailgates forum (HERE).
Two drawings will be held. One in mid August for the first three games, the other in early October for the last three.
The drawing is held by putting numbered golf balls into a hat. Each number represents a person vying for the tickets. My daughter, the lovely miss sackman, draws out the balls. FC, his ginormous head, and I proctor the drawings to ensure fairness. We both have our own set of tickets so we have no dogs in this fight.

Something new this year - paid members of allbuffs.com receive two golf balls. Non-paying members receive one. Just a little way of saying 'thanks' to the paying membership.

If you win the tickets, you must pick them up at the tailgate. YOU MUST BRING BEER TO THE TAILGATE. This is important. Nothing in life is free. Also, if you win, you must acknowledge and reaffirm that you intend to use the tickets at least a week before the game. The reason for this is that we had somebody not show up for his tickets last year, and that pissed me off. To reaffirm, simply go to the thread and post that you'll be there.

Don't ask where the seats are. They're cheap seats. What do you care?

OK, any questions?

I'm going to move this to the overall Football Forum and sticky it there. I like the individual game signup lists in the Tailgates forum, though.

I also stickied the individual lottery threads in the Tailgates forum, just to make it easier to find them. Let me (or another member of the Junta) know when the lottery entry closes and we can lock the threads & unsticky them.

You forgot one caveat. A rival fan is not eligible for tickets to the game that the Buffs are playing that team. IE Fusker fan can not win tickets to the Fusker game.

shoudn't these tickets be for those who paid their $15.00 to join Allbuffs?

just saying ...

You have a hard time readin', boy?:asskicking:

Paying members get two chances for every drawing. Non-paying members get one.

Yes, thank you. I added that caveat to the fusker game ticket thread. Realistically, the only other game where it might be an issue would be the CSU game. Lammie fusker is screwed in either case.

Tickets are in the upper level of the horse shoe above the students, end zone.

I assume they're in the same spot as last year. Not bad seats, great for anything happening at the south end. Even better if you don't have some Texass buttwipe who wants to stand in front of you the entire game as Jens and I did last year....

you get a great view of the whole stadium from our seats...

...and they are free.

any more stupid questions?

Sacky - Reps to you for your contest!:smile2:

You can give my lone chance (golf ball) to one of the other AllBuffer's as I have had season tix for many many years. Maybe you can have a separate drawing for that.

Not that I should care but, are the infidels that post here eligible for your gracious drawing? You know who they are.

Any member is eligible, with the caveat that we don't give CU/NU tickets to fuskers, CU/CSU tickets to goats, etc.

You have to actually ask for the tickets to be put in the drawing. To request tickets, just go to the tailgate forum and respond to the specific game thread.

I would like to apologize for my performance last year. won tix to a game and showed up sans beer. I didn't know the rule and had a loose grasp on decorum.

Folks he was gracious but don't push it. Bring some beer.

oooops...

...let me clarify...

they are not really "free". you have to bring something to the tailgate in exchange for the tix.

in fact, to draw a parallel, it is similar to an athletic scholarship.

you don't need to pay money for the tickets, but there is an indirect cost associated with winning them.

just so you know...

sacky, i was freeking busy and not on allbuffs alot when it was time to pass the hat for the tix this year. next year, i need to be hunted down with a pm. can we start a tailgate fund?

and what do people want to eat for the nebraska game? we are coming out. i also have a new idea for the post game gathering.

So far, the response has been outstanding. The first year we did this, there was one game that I think the recipient won simply because nobody else entered for the tickets. Just goes to show how much allbuffs.com has grown in a few short years.

I'm impressed, folks. Now don't forget the rules. I'll throw a natty lite at your melon if you do.

Last call for you to put your name in FC's giant oversized hat for the drawing for the first three games of the year. We'll be drawing for the tickets on Saturday.

Don't you mean "put your balls in FC's giant oversized hat"?

i'm afraid that all the balls that will be handled this weekend will require a container that is even larger than my ginormous head...

i am thinking "bucket of balls" in fact.

by the way...i want to make it clear that i am just the impartial moderator in this process...ball handler is outside of my job description.
