Christ, can we not get any good news? - Slota suspended

if anyone on the team was gonna get suspended... Let's just say I am not broken up over this.

fair enough...just sick of this week. Would prefer to be on the far side of a win or two and see if my mood is any better.

According to CU records, the program has never gone a year without a senior on its offensive line. The last time it didn’t have at least one senior starter was 1998.

HMMMMM???? Never...except in 1998??

There goes our backup QB since they want to RS Hansen and Evans. I guess Lobato just keeps moving up the ranks....jesus christ this team is ****ed up

errrr... Lobato>Slota on the Depth chart. Not once has slota been mentioned as possibly playing.

whew, but is this a sign that the wheels might be coming off shortly.

How, exactly, is one kid who wasn't going to play this year being suspended pending further evidence about some unnamed offense a "sign that the wheels might be coming off"???

Head coach Dan Hawkins said walk-on quarterback Jerry Slota has been “temporarily suspended from the football team until we ascertain further evidence.” Hawkins did not say what evidence he’s seeking, or why Slota was suspended. Hawkins said freshmen quarterbacks Clark Evans and Seth Lobato will both make the trip to Toledo.

Does this mean Hansen won't, or just that he isn't mentioned??

Considering what Talkins has said this week about the possibility (strong, IMO) that Hansen will burn his redshirt again this year not just if Cody is hurt but also if Cody doesn't produce, means that we'll be bringing all 4 qb's to Ohio.

Plus, Hansen said that even as a redshirt, he would still be involved on the sidelines with wearing the headset and relaying calls to the qb on the field...

Like Purifythatbottom says, Hansen will travel. In fact he is still the second string QB if Cody goes down.

Who's Jerry Slota?

Walk on QB from Chapparal HS; HS team mate of Jack Harris

I started to say that Hansen doesn't have to be mentioned because he is taken for granted, but it had so many layers of meaning that I had to sit down until the dizzy spell went away.

"The page requested was not found" is what I get when I try to find the depth chart for this week on CUBuffs.com. Anything to keep us internet-types from spirited debate, I guess.

I'm going to be contrary and say that it might just be a human error or that maybe they are updating and will have it up soon. Dave Plati has always done an exemplary job of getting facts and figures together, and the addition of BG Brooks has provided much more color.

I just don't see the conspiracy theory in the depth chart being MIA.

Note --- it was just linked improperly. Here it is:
http://www.cubuffs.com/fls/600/gameday/toledo09/cudepth.pdf?SPSID=3843&SPID=255&DB_OEM_ID=600

(I found it by going to
2009 Colorado Football: Game 2 - Toledo

and there's a ton of helpful links at the bottom of that page.)

I wasn't entirely serious about the conspiracy. Just playing into the flamethrowing that's been in vogue here since Sunday.

Oh, and thanks for the link!

Thank you for mentioning it, otherwise I wouldn't have found all that stuff at the bottom of the Toledo page, good stuff.
