CU Depth Chart for Toledo Game

Aik mentioned the links for the depth chart aren't working on cubuffs.com, but I found another way to get there.

In case there's interest:

"The page requested was not found" is what I get when I try to find the depth chart for this week on CUBuffs.com.

Note --- it was just linked improperly. Here it is:
http://www.cubuffs.com/fls/600/gameday/toledo09/cudepth.pdf?SPSID=3843&SPID=255&DB_OEM_ID=600

(I found it by going to the article
2009 Colorado Football: Game 2 - Toledo

and there's a ton of links at the bottom of that page.)

Good to see Andre Simmons and Will Jeff moved up on the depth chart, hopefully by Wyoming it reads:

Simas
Simmons
McKnight
Jefferson
Espy

Blake Behrens listed as Miller's backup at RG, with Adkins in front of Daniels at LG. Interesting indeed.

Also, I'm really concerned about depth at safety. Polk and Perkins only have one listed backup with Mahnke hurt.

I'd like to see behrens at guard instead of adkins. Would like to see burney starting with smith but all 4 of them will be in their most of the game anyway.

Maybe Clark Evans is already more talented than him and maybe used in a game situation of Cody goes down...Evans is mobile and has a good arm...

Let's hope so. I'm still ruminating on the "poor man's Tim Tebow" comment from rivals. Just how poor of a man are we talking about here?

If Cody gets hurt for more than a few plays, Hansen is the guy. They're trying to give Hansen back his RS that was unnecessarily burned last year. Seth is supposedly ahead of Clark.

Interesting in the "football notes" section:

NEXT 100 WILL BE 100
In its history, Colorado has had 99 occasions where a player has had 100 or more yards receiving in a game; the next one up will be No. 100.
The first was recently unearthed: Jim Haley caught three passes for 108 yards and a touchdown against Colorado State on Nov. 25, 1930;
the next was Frank McGlone versus Northern Colorado on Nov. 18, 1933; he caught two passes, both for touchdowns for 109 yards.
It was 13 years until the next one (John Zisch at BYU).
Scotty McKnight is the only current player on the CU roster with one, which he registered in his first game (vs. CSU, Sept 1, 2007; 8-106, 1 TD).

Scott and Speedy 3 and 4 ... genius.

you have to read the legend for it to make sense -- they are "co-first team" status:

AND—indicates those listed all play/rotate
(basically co‐first or second team status);

TAILBACK GROUPING
8 Demetrius Sumler, 5‐10, 215, Jr. ** AND
20 Brian Lockridge, 5‐7, 180, Soph.* AND
2 Darrell Scott, 6‐1, 225, Soph.* AND
5 Rodney Stewart, 5‐6, 175, Soph.*

36 Corey Nabors, 5‐9, 190, Jr.**

I think they are in order of seniority, Junior first, sophomores in alpha order.

Right.

That stood out to me as well. I seriously doubt they would go to Shaun Daniels over Behrens if Adkins were injured or replaced. Would they?

Right.

They won't. the best OL will play. You might see a guard play center or a tackle play guard, etc.

I hope you're right.

This whole Espinoza deal has me confused. I really don't think he's the best player we have besides McKnight. At least I hope not.

Simmons should be out there or jefferson. Espinoza's 3yd curls aren't scaring anyone.

My hope is scott, stewart and the OL get the job done and then next week,we have simas coming back and that will help big time. Mcknight, simas and simmons( with him getting better each game) along with our te's give us a decent group at wr.

Looks like we will still be starting espinoza at WR (LOL) and we will still have a rotation of 4 RB's. Wonder which one will get the most carries?

Is this guy trying to lose?

Not sure what Jefferson has done to be ahead of Espinoza. He also dropped a pass on Sunday.

Jefferson can run routes longer than 3 yards. Jefferson has more height, speed and god given ability. Jefferson has been with the team a whole 3 weeks or a month and is already comparable to Espy in year 2. I can go on if you like!

Was Sumler ahead of DScott last week for kickoff returns? I thought Scott did a great job, and am surprised to see him 2nd there.

Is it just that both will be back there for each kick?

They were both back there. CSU's kicker tees the ball off close to a hashmark and kicks to one side. Either we scouted and watched game film (helluva concept I know) and had Scott on the side he kicked to each time.

I can safely say he is not our second best WR, but the coaches LOVE him. He should be playing during mop-up duty.

Sure, go ahead. How many catches does he have?

0 with few opportunites or someone who could effectivly get him the ball. Give hime the opportunites Espy had and I bet anything he would some catches. My point is he has been here maybe a whole month and looks the part and played the part well for his time here. Espy in year 2 clearly is not a starting WR. I do think Simmons, Simas and McKnight are better than Will Jeff, but Will Jeff clearly will do more for the team than Espy as a WR.

Thanks for proving my point. At this point it is all speculation. Espinoza and Jefferson have played in 1 football game each at Colorado.
