CU's biggest opponent....

is fan apathy. I did something I have never done during a CU game...I fell asleep. Long day at work, but usually I'm so pumped I can't sit still for a TV game. I actually sat back and when Toledo was up by about twenty, I dozed off.

This team is getting shellacked by mid-tier teams, and I feel bad for the players. Everybody else has said all there is to say. This is going to be a long season...

I would say this season specifically the bigger opponent has been stubbornness of the coaching staff to adapt to game situations. Fan apathy unfortunately has been nothing new since we slowly weaned ourselves of the McCartney high.

You are not the only one...I just didn't feel any excitement for CU when I watched the game on Friday.

I was pissed off at half time. I found myself laughing in the second half. In a sick way I wanted to see Colorado get absolutely demolished in the second half to help the coaching change that we need.

 Yep, I kinda found myself doing the same thing. I figured that our most recent beating would surely help us towards getting a new coach. However, it seems clear now that Hawkins (both of 'em) will be right here with us in CO for at least the next couple years.:sad2:

Do you fall asleep during other natural disasters as well?

I'm there for every play. Why? I wanted to see how Lobato would play if CU got the ball back late. I wanted to see if the staff would bring in guys on D who didn't start who maybe should be. I was hoping that somebody would tear the head off of the guy who illegally hit Cody. I'm looking for any glimmer of hope. But I do think that some of the solutions to our problems are in the form of players standing on the sidelines watching and coaches who are not vocal enough.

Yeah, the way our season has started really sucks!

I'm a CU Alumnus (EPOB '98), and I absolutely love CU football. I still do, and I always will. I've even gone so far as to have a framed picture of 'coach' Hawk, and I use that term loosely these days, hung on my wall along with all of my other loved one's pictures. That picture has faithfully hung on my wall throughout the past 3 seasons. Well, that picture came down during the Toledo game, and will NOT be going back up... Don't get me wrong, I love the Buffs, I just don't see anything changing with the program until Coach Dan's contract expires... Seems apparaent Bohn isn't willing to buy it out .

I don't hold season tickets, but I almost always take my family to all of the home games... I live in the Denver area, but because I like to party, a lot, I usually get everyone in my group a hotel room and dinner and drinks before and/or after the game. In my family, CU Football, and especially gameday, is always a big deal. It still will be, but I'm not going to head up to Boulder and spend my money on food, lodging, CU gear, and other Buff paraphernalia until this situation improves. Until then, I'll be catching the games I can on TV.

I gave away my tickets to the UW game to the neighbor's kid and his buddies. He said, "thanks", but assured me that the Buffs would fall again to UW this weekend. I suspect he very well could be right.

It's not looking good for us this year but I will still root for the team and wear my CU colors with pride.

Give 'em hell Buffs!
