Nick Kasa listed as Day to Day

Hopefully he would have an immediate impact along the DLine... they need it.

If Kasa could jump in and give us some more pressure from the middle of the line, the D could really start to come together.

Also - They had CU's trainer on Klatt and Ketchman earlier this week, and he wouldn't go into many details on Kasa's MCL injury (I think it was MCL), but said that he was looking good and recovering much faster then they normally see.

Do you think he'd hold up at tackle, maybe on obvious passing downs? Was he practicing there in the fall at all?

At the very least it could boost morale a bit. We need all the momentum we can get!

I didn't see him practice this year, so, not sure how it would work out, but I'm not thinking of him as like a true interior tackle. Instead, I think he could be the outside DL in a 3-4 set, lining up on the opposite side of where ever Beatty/Rippy is lining up.

That makes sense. I was thinking on passing downs he could be the tackle right inside of the pass rushing end, especially if the end was really wide.

I'd rather RS him, let him get bigger and better and tear it up next season. I'm not giving up on this season, but we're about to get into the big 12 schedule where the OT could/will dominate him.

I'd love to see Kasa and tuioti but if their going to play 2 plays a game, might as well RS them. They would have to be close to 100%.

MCL tears take forever to heal. 1-2 months for the inflammation to go down, and a few more months for everything in the knee to tighten back up after being stretched out. Would rather see him RS and rehab it completely than risk making it worse during a season that is probably 4-5 wins at best.

a true frosh that's been hurt, great, that's just ****ing great gheesh

I'm with you guys on the redshirt. Let him get bigger and stronger. Watch him tear peoples heads off next year.

Yeha, that makes sense if your job and career is not on the line. If it is, then you take chances for the extra win or two that makes a bowl game and saves your bacon.

Unfortunately you may be right. If Juicebox thought that Kassa might help out in someway and didn't get a redshirt this year, I believe Hawk would play him. Oh well, I don't coach D1 football. What do I know.

It also sounds like MTM just might return to practicing with the team in 2-3 weeks. I'm sure the RS option is there depending on how well they both recovered from their knee injuries.

I thought this guy was off on a mission or something, and was definitely redshirting this season. Regardless, I guess it's good he'll be able given that anything that might improve the O-line play is desperately needed.

To paraphrase Keith Olberman: "Nick Kasa is day to day, we're all day to day".

Normally I can't stand the sanctimonious prick, but I've always enjoyed that little gem.

I believe a month or two ago MTM changed his mind for some reason? One of the other guys posted something here about it. So I'm sure it's in the archives somewhere. The DP article also said that it had been a year since MTM had the injury. I'm not sure if that's enough time to fully recover. With the injuries he's been through, his legs must have zippers all over.
