At the end of the first half, CU takes a knee and does nothing to try to get a score before halftime. I think that for a team that has struggled to score all year long in a game where they are only up by three scores, that they need to take every opportunity to put points on the board until the outcome is no longer in doubt. Wyoming was going to get the ball to start the third quarter. Four runs in a row and taking a knee really pissed me off. I thought that four runs in a row followed by inserting Simas & Simmons and running a play action would have been appropriate. It may not have worked, but it would at least send a message that they're always trying to score.
One of the fellows in my section argued that being up 17-0 with no injuries was good enough, and that we would have been risking injury or a turnover in that situation. He made the point that it's the primary goal of the offense to protect the ball. I said they could take three knees in a row and punt every time if that was truly their primary goal. I think he's an idot.
What say you?
