how bad is Tennessee going to lose?

Florida will do everything they can to hang 70 on them. I was at UF/LSU last year and they hung over half a hundred on LSU and Urban wasn't even mad at Les Miles.

This will be ugly - Florida hates Tennessee like we hate Nebraska and CSU combined - and that's without their head coach running his mouth

They're going to win... Didn't you hear Kiffin's presser when he was hired? :smile2:

Kiffin's problem was that he opened his mouth shortly after he was hired. Very dumb move as a HC. Now he's trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube. To little too late. Urban has a history of running up the score. Case in point: A couple of years ago florida was leading in a game by 5 touchdowns or more, he called a timeout with less than a minute to go on the opponants 5 yd line so they could score again.

Run it up!...Im from the Bill Belichick school of thought. Play football for 60 min regardless of the score. Offense scores points defense tries to stop them. I hope it is 103 - 3 with Kiffins mouth.

Completely agree. If you don't want to be embarrassed, man up and stop it. Personally I think it's patronizing when teams don't run up the score.

This one really surprised me, gotta hand it to the Vols for hanging in there on this one. I didn't see any of the game but the 10-point margin seems pretty accurate because UF outgained them by about 100 yards and the turnovers were equal. Certainly not the domination I thought it would be.

Monte Kiffin is a very good coach. I dont think the cupboard was empty when the Kiffins arrived either. I think they'll be going in the right direction soon enough.

UF ran the zone read about 50% of the plays I saw. They didn't want Berry or Monte's schemes to work against Tebow and increase UTs chance of an upset. Very few deep passes. Respect, because UF outclasses UT in terms of talent.

Tennessee has a lot of experienced talent on defense, so they can be competitive in a lot of games. Crompton is just dreadful though.

Kiffin is at again:

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin says he put his Volunteers in the best position they could be in to beat Florida. Then he took one more shot at Gators coach Urban Meyer.

Meyer said Sunday that he kept his game plan conservative in No. 1 Florida’s 23-13 win after he felt the Vols didn’t appear to be playing for a win. He also said several of his players had been hit by the flu.

On Monday, Kiffin said he didn’t want to respond to Meyer’s comment. But asked whether he was worried about the flu also hitting Tennessee, he said: “I don’t know. I guess we’ll wait and after we’re not excited about a performance, we’ll tell you everybody was sick.”

I think every conference should have a **** talking ass like that. Makes for good articles, and Sports Center clips.

It certainly helps when you can hire your dad, who happens to be a legendary DC (and pay him $1.2 million - highest paid assistant coach in college FB according to the Great Wikipedia), to run your defense...

Yup, IMO that's why UT is going straight back to the top of the SEC. Even though TN is not a recruiting hotbed, Kiffin can relate to a lot of kids. Having Orgeron (Ole Miss' previous coach) on his staff is also lightning in a bottle as far as recruiting. It's also another thing to tell a 5* CB/S/DL that your dad--who is an NFL legend--thinks he can take you to the league.

I give UT 2 years to turn it around and start competing. UGA is going to struggle because of this, but I think UF will be fine as long as Meyer is there.

Watching some of that game, they were way more physical then Florida. I thought they looked better, save the QB position. Tennessee would beg to have Cody be thier QB. Crompton is a ridiculous joke as a QB.

I think that they will be very good in a year or two.

Did you really just say that Cody is better than Cromption?? Have you watched any CU games this year?? I have seen monkeys at the zoo throw thier poo better than Cody throws a football. Not to say he's great or anything, but Crompton was playing FLORIDA - Cody would have been taken off the swamp in a body bag if we had played them

hey man, while i see your point, could you please refrain from comparing a Buff player to a poo-flinging monkey (unfavorably, i might add...). these are still our players. in moderating this board, we are trying to watch the personal attacks on players.

now, if you had said that reesing is a poo-flinging monkey, well, that would be fair game, for example.

thanks.

Yep, Crompton has more physical tool, he's just mentally weak and completely broken down.

What impressed me about Tennessee is that they recognized QB is a weakness and instead of having him set records for throwing, committed to the run and controlling TOP.

It'd be nice if a certain coaching staff in Colorado with highly lauded RB's on its roster would adopt a similar approach.

*sigh*
