Over/Under on DS carries tonight?

4 carries...we fall behind early, then it becomes a desperation passing attack....

100% of the kick off returns
10% of the rushing carries producing 45% of the rushing yards.

after the game speedy had against these guys last year why are we talking about Scott?

DS will have 7 kickoff returns and 3 carries.

Post game, coach why didn't DS get the ball more on offense? "he was a little nicked up, errrr our offense was behind and we had to change things."

I'd go with 5-6. Abs is right, Speedy should be getting a ton of carries. He seems to be better suited to play against this team.

I am not the technician that some of you are, but it sure seems like Speedy is better overall than DS. He makes guys miss, he sparks the whole team, he doesn't go down every 15 seconds with an injury (yes a broken leg took him out but I wouldn't write that up as being a puss, his damn leg was broke. And yes he jacked his hammy in fall ball but that is no laughing matter either and compared to DS's record of injuries Speedy's indestructable), and there doesn't seem to be any attitude issues with him.

Why is anyone talking about DS anymore at all?

I will take the over because...

1. Speedy tore them up last year so the genious Hawk will decide, Hey lets catch them off guard with someone else, instead of the guy who tore them up. :bang:

2. Its not hard to get 10 carries in the first half, see Toledo game

3. After number 2 in the second half when we have 45 pass attempts because we are trailing Sumler will be in the rest of the game.

Over... 32 or 28 carries is too much for speedy. I want him to last the season this time. It should be roughly speedy and Scott 25/15 depending on who is looking good.

Dude, Juicebox has made it clear that while he has blamed DS of 'a little nicked up', it's actually that he just prefers to put Sumler in instead.

He's averaging 6.6 yards per carry (per Rivals) - compared to 4.3 for Speedy and 3.9 for Sumler.

Plus, if we never put the 5* recruit on the field, even just to prove to everyone that he shouldn't be playing, then how in the world would we ever be able to convince another blue chip RB to come to CU?

this is kind of the thing for me. KeJuan Jones led OU to the BCS title game in 03, rushed for 1000 yards, and in 04 he was the starter but eventually got replaced by some guy named Adrian Peterson...in about game 4 because everytime OU gave the rock to Peterson he produced. Jones was a very good college back, he wasn't the number one 5 star guy in America. I like Sumler, but he is what he is and he's also not KeJuan Jones. feed Scott the ball.

give the kid the rock, no more games and bull****.

fwiw, a freind of mine who has been pretty reliable with inside info says he has heard primarily DS/Speedy getting the carries with Lockridge more in the slot.

I would expect them to alternate series with Sumlin in on 3rd and long. If they can stay in the gameplan, I think about 17 carries each. If we fall behind quick, it will understandably be half of that.

Was that wishful thinking?

I'll say 10 carries, coaches will be hoping he'll wear down the defense, also trying to take more time off the clock, so WVU doesnt score too many times so Juicebox can again say we were almost there, it's about to POP, and just a few more little things to fix. If it's not a blowout then Hack can continue to come up w/ excuses.
