Thought the O-Line did look better in pass protection this week.

There were a lot of runs that would have been stopped for no gain if it had been any running back other than Speedy. But they did hold their own in pass protection.

nice to see simas get a td, too.

also, nice to see lockridge get a chance on special teams.

beatty played pretty good too.

that's about all i have for positives.

Lockridge looked great on KORs... I'd like to see him on PRs... Espy averaged 3 yards on PRs.

Simas was getting open on his routes too. Just wasn't getting the ball....

Much better in pass protection.

WVU was loading up on the run. I thought we actually did a good job of getting that blocked, too. Problem is, safeties do not have to respect our passing game and it's absolutely killing us.

They looked at him, can't consistently catch them. Same with Simmons. Apparently Speedy is real shaky. He looked great on KR, they should keep it that way.

Our tackles are still getting burned on the edge. One is a true freshman and is learning, the other has GOD given LIKE TALENT and has been called a freak.

Almost every punt someone was there with Espy when he caught it, their punter did a helluva job... With that said in that situation I would rather have sure hands back there.

a former buff OL made a great observation today, says they do not play with any mean streak. Says he has not seen one instance where an ol has had a knockdown block or driven the opponent 10 yards downfield and stood over them with an attitude. Yep they have some height but they all look more like TE's than the ol of GB or Skippy eras. Very little emotion, this all begins in pratice, you get better in practices and not in games. Says our practices are nothing like the ones they had where everyone was getting after each other with attitudes. That's coaching my fellow fans.

Who is the strength and conditioning coach anyway?

I don't know much about OL intricacies, but doesn't the Spread style that Hawkins wants to implement ask for all those guys to play like a wall instead of being "drive-blockers".

Not that I disagree with your post, I would rather see a mean and nasty OL that punished the defense. Maybe that's why Kai didn't fit in though? Hawkins wants cement feet on his OL.

The "mean streak" thing would have to be a coaching issue if your guy hasn't seen if from our o-line, TBD. Givens and Miller definitely have mean streaks and we'll see it from Max when he gets back in there, too. I don't know the personalities of the other guys very well.

If you want to run the ball you better have big mean OL just sayin
