How Bout D Scott to DB?

We've got speed in our secondary. If we start Jimmy and Jalil (or Chap) at corner with Burney and Polk at safety, we've got one of the faster secondaries in the Big 12.

If we're going to move an offensive guy to the secondary, it should be Wright. What was the benefit of moving him to WR again? We don't use him at all. Total waste of his talent right now.

DS dont have the footwork to play in the secondary. Thats what he needs to work on or the staff needs to find blocking schemes to actually get him outta the backfield. Not knocking the guy its just he runs the same plays Speedy does and Speedy rarely loses yards or only gets one. Unless my eyes deceive me, DS doesnt have very good lateral movement. Maybe just lining up in the I and running simple iso's and such would be better suited for him. Thoughts?

Thoughts?

DS is far, far behind Stewart right now, in every aspect. I like DS better than Sumler in short yardage situations, and as a receiver, but DS is not running with any confidence or attitude right now. I wish his carries were a little more spread out last night, instead of all of them in (seemingly) one series. This staff has no clue what "change of pace" means or how an offense can benefit from it.

I pointed this out in another thread, but I'll do it here too. DS is still averaging 5.4 yards/carry and had his longest run of the season called back. I don't think it's time to give up on DS at RB yet.

Never did I say give up on him. Im telling you what I see and have seen since he got here. We cant run the same running plays with Scott as we do Speedy because Scott doesnt have the footwork or vision for it. These are things he needs to improve upon and that comes with practice and game repetition. My point was, we should run plays that suit what he can do right now and work towards the other. No doubt, we need DS something fierce. I dont know what yall saw but I saw Speedy get gassed last night.

I thought it was pretty obvious a couple of weeks ago, Scott gets better the more carries he gets. He's a rythym runner and can't get into a rythym getting called on 3 times a game. And why the hell did he get demoted from kickoff return duties? Not that I don't like Lockridge back there, but why not Scott and Lockridge? What does Sumler do that's so awesome on kickoff.

Sumler was in there to block on ko's last night cause a few balls were kicked to him and he let Lock field it. To his credit, he did a nice job blocking on those. Yes DS is a rythym back but he is also a straight line back. They need a package for him, basic power running plays cause ,imho, that's what he is. Nobody needs DS more than Speedy, the guy is tough as nails but he will break down getting 20 plus carries a game. I think Darrell might not have been on kickoff return cause of the knee, not sure about that though, just a guess.

Isn't that kinda like sayin if the queen has balls she'd be King?

Apparently some teams were recruiting him as an LB... not sure I buy it tho
