Shame on Hawk for not playing Hansen from the get-go this season. The Buffs would probably be 4-1 if Hansen had started the season. There is no way Tylers and Codys skills are even close. Love Cody, heckava guy, but he CANNOT scramble and make things happen like Tyler did.

CU had someone playing that was a close enough imitation of Reesing on our team tonight-- and that is not a bad thing!! A bit more time and CU may have a Reesing clone.

Great win by the Buffs-- after stopping the blitz and letting KU get back in the game, they locked it down when it counted and pulled through. Great job!!!

Tyler at the beginning and we'd still be 2-4. Collins' D gameplan against CSU and Toledo was a loser. UT just had the horses. WYO has none.

Lets not get carried away. QB play was not the only reason for those early loses, so unless Hansen was planning on playing both ways, I don't buy the we would be 4-1 theory.

yea not sure tyler could have hung 55 on toledo

If Tyler keeps the offense going, we score more, they have less opportunites to win the game. I still say we win CSU and Toledo--probably WVU too. Have to look at the box score to see who Tyler threw the ball too, but I know more than McNight caught the ball in the first three quarters.

Still brings back-- there is no way Cody and Tyler are close in their skills. Tyler was twice the player Cody is tonight. You saw it, I saw it, we all did. We lose this game with Cody playing by double digits.

That's one of the biggest things that stood out tonight, that when TH would be quickly flushed from the pocket, if it was Cody on those plays he either would've been sacked or thrown the ball away. But with TH in there he was able to make things happen sometimes, either with this arm or by running.

Tyler threw the ball considerable better today than he did last year. It was nice seeing him make the next step. He is going to be fun to watch for the next few years.

Against all reports to the contrary........

CU has a decent ****ing quarterback!!!! Who knew???

I'm definitely willing to live with the growing pains and miscues Hansen will commit... because that dude can ****ing ball. He's a Big 12 athlete and he has "it".

I can see how Cody looks better in practice, though, throwing things on time and not having to improvise with plays breaking down. I just wish the coaches had realized sooner how game-changing it is when a QB makes plays even when the defense otherwise won the down.

I was very impressed by watching Tyler look off receivers. He'd look at one guy, then the next, then the next, then the next. He didn't ever lock in on one guy, which I thought was fantastic. That's a problem Cody had and it made him much easier to defend.

Also loved the offensive balance in the game today.

How any observer let alone football coach actually believe and start Little Hawk over Hansen is a frickin moron. I never wanted to believe that Hawk would put his son above the team and just thought that Hansen didn't really get it or wasn't that good. Tonight's performance by Hansen shows that Talkins put his son above not only Hansen but above everyone else on the team that works their tail off and was willingly to hijack our season just to have his son at QB. Shame on you Talkins. And I dont' care if we win 8 games in a row, I will never forget that Hawk would stoop to that low. Really disgraceful and I apologize to the ones that I criticized here that were clamoring for Hansen to start. I was wrong and you were right. I'm a Little Hawk fan, supported him a lot but its so obvious he had no business starting over Hansen ever this season.

Its nice that today we were the Colorado Buffaloes and not the Colorado Hawkins

Todd Reesing is one dood I'm happy to see graduate.
It's about time he failed to escape with a victory. Both Briscoe and Meier were money.
That game could have gone either way. Nice to finally be on the good end of a nailbiter.

That was the best victory since OU 07. Now go get the north!

But CU willed a victory with defensive turnovers and Rodney Stewart and Tyler's moxie.

Let's get that sunflower state sweep.

Colorado Hawkins for the day.

Really. You truly believe this. If this is true why was Hansen going to play against WVU? Hawkins did not put his son above the team. ****. I hate how this board overreacts every which way.

Yes Hansen looked great today, maybe he should have started, but let's not act as if he only came in because Cody got hurt or something. Cody got put on the bench because the coaches decided Hansen gave us a better chance to win. They benched Cody last year for the same thing.

I will believe Reesing is gone about 10 years from now if I haven't seen him for that long. I freaking HATE that guy, and given the fact that Meier has been there since Wilt Chamberlain came on his recruiting visit, I can't quite shake the fear that Reesing is going to keep showing up, year after year....

this was the first year though I don't remember Reesing killing us with a broken play scramble.

Please Chilly, I'm a Little Hawk fan, but there's no way why Hansen should not have been starting at the beginning of the year.. I don't care about the WVU game, whether Hansen was suspended or not, etc, etc, etc.. Bottom line, Hansen is a better QB than Little Hawk.. and that's all I need to know..

Its embarrassing that Talkins put this program through this..

Wake me up. Todd Reesing just threw to Kory Sperry.

Hansen was the better QB on today. I am not going to take a damn thing away from that kids performance. But to I think this Bull**** about Hawkins playing Cody for some kind of selfish reasons really is just that Bull****. They wanted to RS Hansen, and they thought they could win this year with Cody. By the end of game 3 they saw that Cody was struggling and they were ready to turn to Hansen and burn the RS.

But for ****s sake, after watching Hansen tonight, would you not want to RS him if you thought Cody could win you some games this year. I don't blame them for thinking that would be the best long term success for this program.

Let's not take this thing too far. Cody was better in practice, spring, scrimmages, etc. He did not single handedly lose any games or win any games. It was time for a change and it worked.

Last year, we made a change to Hansen and it worked for KjSu and it didn't last.

The best long term success for the program is to play the best players. Winning games results in getting better players through recruiting which ends up helping building a winning program. . U don't sit around and redshirt players that are significantly better and give us a better chance to win than others just for the sake of the "future" whatever the hell that means.

The coaching staff look like a bunch of fools for even considering redshirting Hansen now.. Little Hawk would not have won this game for us.. Not a chance in hell..

Bohn should dock Talkins pay for the 5 weeks that he pissed away with the lesser QB he decided to start..

Hansen was significantly better than he was against KjSU last year where he mostly was used as a running type QB..

Hansen made plays with his arm and feet tonight. He should have been starting at the beginning of the year. End of story.

Just got back from the game, and this is right on. Hansen was superb tonight, given how little experience he's been allowed to garner. Smart, cool under pressure, just a superb performance. Led the team on a 4th quarter drive that was needed to overcome a kansas lead.

and what should he do about ISU last year where sticking with Hansen would have gotten us shutout at home?

I saw Hansen in the spring game and again in an early fall scrimmage and I was PERSONALLY disappointed that he did not appear to be the guy to take us further. He was not much different than Cody even though I wanted him to be more.

He was REALLY good tonight. Different guy. Lay off the staff. This is a helluva job to get this team playing this well after playing SOOO bad in weeks 1 & 2. Husker fans are crapping their pants tonight. I know that first hand....

Last year and this year are totally different. Also add into the fact that Hansen was a true freshman and had limited passing skills its not surprising that he had to be replaced..

What I saw tonight was something totally different than what I saw last year. Hansen is way better than he was.. Can I say the same about Little hawk?
