Still lots of negativity

I guess I shouldn't expect anything less. But I'm reading a lot of negative stuff. Now it is more in the "if Hawkins had just made the move sooner" mode. Whatever.

**** you! Me? Negative? They call me "Mr. Positivity." Asshole. :smile2:

After West Virginia I was afraid I wouldn't see consecutive wins this season. The way Kansas State did A&M today I'm not going to get overwhelmed with positivity just yet. Got to see the Buffs win on the road first.

A bunch of KSU points came off short field drives from 5 A&M turnovers.
While you could argue the same about us vs KU, the difference is they don't have a qb that can burn us like Reesing did.

BTW, I still have some negative thoughts about this season, but I'll do my best to keep my trap shut. We'll just say the team earned Hawk some breathing room. Overall I'm very pleased to get a quality (yes quality) win

I'm also happy about the win, but still pissed about the season. Hack is no where near off the hook. We still need to see how the rest of the season goes. If he wins out he may buy himself another season, if not then CU and Bohn still needs to cut their losses.

Like many have said, he wound up looking more the fool last night for not playing Hansen earlier. Last night might have been the first time Hack let his assts coach as well.

Nice win, but it doesn't cover up the fact that Talkins is 15-28 in his career and was on the brink of losing a 24-3 lead at HOME..

I would say the players won the game in spite of Talkins and company..

When you get Hawk his coffee this morning, ask him if its possible for his team to win 2 games in a row..

You're right. You keep being negative and bashing other posters. I wish you'd get a clue.

Eh, Fairbanks was in a no win position last night.

Lose and he just continues the downward spiral.

Win, and it's "You nepotistic ****, you kept Cody in when we had this on the bench!"

We looked better, Hansen makes a world of difference. Still have a long way to go. The near collapse in the second half is indicative of Fairbanks poor coaching.

for me, i think there's still a lot of questions but a lot of encouraging things to take from last night. one W eases the pain for a week but remains to be seen if the wounds are healing. we'll know more a week from today. a W on the road against a team coming off a big win over a south team...would be a nice step to making a play for a bowl.

I dont think it had anything to do with coaching. Did DH fumble the ball repeatedly??? Fake punts on him, other than that, thats just fumbles and Reesing being a hell of a player.

We won.

i think also we had a little case of not being able to handle success due to inexperience with it. and, to our credit, we made some plays and fought back through it.

You are truly amazing. Now, even in the face of overwhelming evidence, you can't see the truth of it. No, DBT, your dogma must be better than analysis.

I'm pissed that the Buffs surrendered a three touchdown lead. I'm pissed Mangino was able to do a better job making adjustments on both offense and defense at the half.

Champions know close the door when they get ahead.:smile2:

We are nowhere near to being Champions. However, even as pissed as I was, I am seeing huge gains in team play. Can't wait for Saturday to see if the trend continues.

Since this is the thread for negative posts, just have to say that rushing the field last night embarrassed our entire school. Can't we act like we've won a game before? Rushing the field against Kansas, no matter how highly ranked they are, is also indicative of how low our program has sunk.

Rush the field when you beat #1 ranked teams only.

Other than our (sometimes) dumb student section, GREAT WIN BUFFS!

I agree with that, if he had just made the move sooner...glad to see you being positive..

I completely agree. 62-36 was the only game in my opinion that should have been rushed - the previous losses to them, the meaning of the game, the way we won. That was worthy of rushing the field.

Here are the other teams we rushed: Iowa State, Baylor, OU (which an argument could be made for), KU...

Our program could use some help right now, but I think students get caught up in the immediate moment, forgetting about our history. We might not be in the top echelon with USC, Michigan, ND, etc in terms of football past, but our program is damn sure better than KU and others. It was our second win of the season against an overrated team...great win, but I wish we would stop rushing the field. It means more if you save that celebration for the big wins too.

I see your point, but the students needed a release after the team, i.e., coach, was so bad in the first 4 games. I have no problem with rushing the field as a huge underdog against a ranked team that has dominated you in recent games.

1-4 beating an undefeated, ranked team that we hadn't beaten during most in the student section's tenure at CU is fine for rushing IMO.

I'm feeling much more positive about the rest of this season. The team I saw last night looked much more like a team with the ability to at least be competitive in the Big XII than what we saw the first 5 games.

But that doesn't mean the first 5 games go away, or that the coaching that led to them never happened. And yeah, after seeing Hansen last night, I really can't help but wonder why this move wasn't made sooner...

I agree, these are kids just being kids having fun....and right now that was a huge win for this team and the student section. IMO that has to make this team feel good to see the students rush the field, lets them know that we still stand by this team....GO BUFFS!!!!

How can you blame anyone for saying "What if TH played earlier???" About every Buff fan was saying this and now it's the "I Told You So" moment....I would think Coach Hawk would have to be a little red in the face.

If TH is playing up to this level on Game 1 vs. CSU, It's hard for me to see this same team being 2-4.
