Givens

Sorry if this has been discussed ad naseum elsewhere, I wasn't as up-to-date with my info going into this game as I have been for the previous 200 games.

Why didn't Givens dress for this one? Injury? Other?

Thanks in advance.

I don't know, but several posters, including pissbomber, have said it is personal - not academic or disciplinary. As curious as I am, I'm going to try to respect the young man's privacy.

FWIW, Bryce was on the sidelines in street clothes.

I saw him on the sidelines and he didnt seem pissed or anything, so I'm hopeful he'll be back soon. Maybe he's got crabs or a sever casae of jock itch or something else embarassing they just dont want to talk about. As long as he's back soon I wont worry.

TBH, I hope we never find out in an article and how he "bounced back" or something similar. I hope it isn't that serious.

Nonetheless, I'm hoping he battles back and starts kicking ass.

yep, he was joking around with other teamates

Any possibility that he is one of the players thinking of transferring?

I remember their being rumors of certain high caliber players transferring.

Those weren't rumors. Those were planted stories by the anti-Hawkins hysterical groups. My concerns with Givens are not transfer but will he play at all.

I just feel bad for him. I hope that he gets through whatever the issue is unscathed and continue with his life with or without football.

CU is 2-0 with Givens out of the lineup.

Not sure there's any kind of correlation there, just sayin'.

I don't think there is one. CU would still win against Wyoming with Givens playing, and CU wins/loses the KU game based on the QB, not Givens IMO. Givens/Hansen in? We still win. Without Givens and with Cody? We lose. Of course, this is just my opinion and like 99.9% of what we all post here, can have no for sure solid facts to back it up.

This is a very curious situation.

Yep. I keep trying to rack my brain about what could possibly be the cause of this. "Personal reasons?" All I can think is that the kid has cancer or something... But then why was he ok to play vs TX?

I have thought a lot about what it could be also but in reality as long as he is not doing something immoral or that could damage the reputation of the program and/or the university it is really none of our business. I certainly hope that it is not a lifethreatening or long term illness for him or anyone close to him.

By all indications he is a very high quality guy who is liked and respected by his teammates, coaches and the others around him. As long as he wants to keep his situation private I vote to respect that and only say that I wish him the best possible outcome whether that includes returning to the team or not.
