Every time the Buffs get a big win under Hawkins, they can never build on it for future success. It's just a damn repeating cycle.

2006 - Beat Tech, then dropped the next3 straight

2007 - Beat OU for a 3-2 start, then finished out the season 3-5.

2008 - beat WVU to go 3-0, then lost the next 3 straight and went 2-7 to finish out the season.

2009 - We all saw what happened today, including the re-insertion of Orange Slice into the QB rotation.

Under Hawkins, they don't know how to build on a big win. They can't seem to figure out how to take one big win and turn it into 2-3-4 or more wins. They just **** the bed after a big win.

Today was no different. After a big win last week, they came out listless and uninspired. Combine that with Juicebox pulling Hansen for his kid and I don't know how much more I can watch. It's just too damn painful at this point.

lol @ orangeslice

they can't coach. i don't care to pull any punches at this point. these ****ers can't coach at this level. pulling the qb so that a less athletic kid could come in and throw 2 picks and a bunch of weak-armed ducks is the ****ing capper for me.

it is never just on one player and i don't blame the players. this staff is putting them into positions to fail. period.

there is only one way out, imho.

Special teams... Yikes.

Glad to see a particular player pulled, too bad it was one attempt too late.

Time to make 2 more personnel experiments, and involves a foot.

We had opportunities to flip field position and came up with a 26, then a 32 yd (with a lucky bounce) punt.

Also gave up some big returns today. Not that I'm scapegoating the Special Teams, but... It's 1/3 of the game that can definitely give a spark.

Since when did we start running the "rugby" punt? It appears since the Texas game. Well since then:

We have had a PR for a TD, a Punt blocked for a TD, given up an obvious fake from the same formation, a failed fake and some of the worst punts by a D-1 punter I have ever seen.

The wins are so far and few between that ever damn one of them has been a "Big Win". I mean look at us, we are saying that beating Kansas last week was a big win. Other than that year they went to the BCS game, when was the last time beating Kansas was a big deal. And I am not talking about Basketball either.

As Boulder Buff has stated before, they seem to make **** up as they go along. The other thing is this no emotion approach. I get that you don't want to get too high or low after wins and losses but too many times, this team comes out and look like they've just been read a eulogy. sp?

It's never going to happen with hawk, he believes he and his coaches are doing everything right and they just keep waiting for it to all of a sudden "pop". We've heard this for 3 and a half years now.

I see many other first head coaches making an impact yet hawk is still in quicksand. How do you score 34 on kansas and come back and score 6 on a not very good k-state team and the 6 came on the first drive? Even in wins this coaching staff makes ZERO adjustments on offense other than throw it up every play.

The defense played their butts off again and with just an average offense,we win this game, csu game etc..

I wish some boosters would step up or one of the coors family. Either everyone is broke or they just don't care what happens in boulder anymore.

I like MAC but he was dead wrong on hawk.

2008 was the season when momentum and the time was right to elevate this program and they lost it at florida state and that was it.

2-17 on the road is unacceptable, well for the fans it is.

Great Dan Hawkins quotes After KSU loss:

"We've got to rally, we've got to rally . . . this is not where we wanted to be," CU coach Dan Hawkins said, calling his team's failure to capitalize on the KU victory "just the nature of this conference.

"You've just got to pull yourself up every week and get going, and not get caught up in whether you won or lost."

Said Dan Hawkins: "You talk to these guys all the time and you have to have leadership from your guys who have been around a little bit; they just need to know when you travel, you need to bring a little extra juice and stay locked in there."

It's too much to ask, but was Dan making a little joke?

I posted it another thread, but I am amazed that we have gotten worse since the UT game on special teams. Just awful.

No ****ing way. Did he really say that? :rofl2:
