The public perception is that the issue is about Dan Hawkins` son. It`s not.

Rather, it`s about Dan Hawkins` stubborn insistence on proving he is right, and doing so at the expense of his team. It`s a stubborn streak that is pervasive throughout the offense. It`s an insistence upon trying to force players into a system rather than adapting a system to the players. It`s an insistence upon not putting the best athletes on the field while apparently trying to make a point by using less-talented players -- and we`re not talking about only the quarterback.

That`s the problem that needs to be corrected. If Hawkins truly cares about the program -- and not simply about proving himself right -- he will do what all good leaders do.

But what isn`t clear today is whether Dan Hawkins will shed his stubborn streak and do what is best for his team.

I couldn't believe that when I read it this morning.

Squawkins is really running out of supporters.... tick tock.

EVERYONE MUST READ THIS!!!!!

It was a nice column, although I thought it was a little telling that he decided to go into all the other struggles of North teams right off the bat.

thank you sandiego, i just can't believe the balls on some people. hawkins inserts his son when everyone in buff nation is saying hell no! pretty unbelievable stuff. then espinoza and goodman. i can't remember any 2 players worse at their positions. i really believe there's better punt returners and kickers in the local high schools. it's getting pathetic.

While we're throwing special teams under the bus, DiLallo needs to be shoved down there too. Pitiful!

Yes, excellent review. Was he relying on lukewarm Buff fans to quit reading before he got to the core of his argument? I'd have thought a good journalism class would have swayed him toward making his main point early, not late.

Yea that was rather interesting and I thought someone would bring it up. But beyond that, he told it like it is and certainly didn't cut Hawk any slack. His supporters are getting very scarce these days, that's for sure.

not all of us. enough of us boycot games, of enough of the right people with $$$$ direct the AD to make a change then change will happen. I'm hoping sooner than later, but most likely not until the end of the season.
