We lost to KSU, they did not beat us; This is not a good team and we easily handed them this game by not taking control of anything:

Option Defense: The KSU option was nothing unique, this was a basic speed option that is easily defendable by picking up the pitch man. Time and time again I saw the entire defense crashing on the QB and giving the RB an alley.

Penalties: 8-69 yards...not that bad in comparison to other games, but it is the timing of the penalties...3rd downs, back to back to put us in a hole, when we break big plays. We gave up opportunities at inopportune/critical moments.

Espinoza: I understand that he catches the ball (except the fumble which I will get to) but I have yet to see him gain anything on a return...at least give us a chance here. Espy, Why are you catching a punt on out own 3? Are you kidding me? I know you are sure handed, but if you are in traffic, CALL THE FAIR CATCH! It is not like he is a threat to make ANY return whatsoever, he is obviously back there to catch the ball so he might as well just call the fair catch every time. I would rather see somebody back there that is a threat to return...B-Lock? Simmons? ****, even Sumler might gain a couple yards.

TH: Great game last week, but he has to learn to throw the ball way or step up and run. KSU did a good job covering down the field, but TH was just running in circles back there without a plan. He needs to be more decisive and either throw the ball down the field, out of bounds, or run downhill (rather than backwards and every other direction). reminded me of Doug Flutie when he played for the Bills.

Turnovers: 2 INTs and 3 (2 lost) fumbles (Good call on putting Cody in, DAN...2 INTs. Nothing more needs to be said as Cody, plain and simple, should have never taken the headset off.)

Run vs Pass: It has been establsihed that the running game is our strength...We need to stop abandoning the running game when we get behind.

Defense: 80 yds passing for KSU against our weak pass defense and then they give up 145 yds rushing to one guy...come on. The KSU O only outgained our inept O by 44 yds with 204 yds on the ground...no excuse.

Simply put, we were outcoached.

KSU's players wanted it more, KSU won the turnover battle, KSU won the special teams battle, KSU won the line of scrimmage, and KSU controlled field position. Honestly, we should have lost by 40 and would have if we weren't hands down more talented.

Adjustments are missing from the coaching. CU was putting a lot of pressure on the KSU QB and right away their coaches ran a shovel pass, a long bomb (incomplete but the receiver was open) and then some bubble screens - all designed to slow down the rush and spread the defense and it worked. No one on the CU sideline is saying..."What are those guys doing and how can we take advantage of it?"

Out coached, and uncoached.

I honestly feel very sorry for these players who were told that they would come here, play, and develop. They were lied to when they were told that they were going to be coached, versus advised to be Dean's List students.

Jay Leeuwenburg was just on 1510...

I will just say, as harsh and mad as he was, the nice version according to JL was that our players are just flat out not coached, forget the QB situation. He's concerned with the OL's lack of technique, and offensive identity.

It is very much the CU National Enquirer. There's usually some truth to the scoops, and sometimes the scoop is 100% spot on, but it's really hard to separate the wheat from the chaff. :smile2:

shhh, you will anger the AZ! He shall smite you with his superior scoopage! Then he will insult you for not believing in him!

Yeah. He'd probably tell me to cancel my membership, too. Hopefully he doesn't see this. I really don't want to deal with that.

KSU DC Vic Koenning vs Hawk/Kiesau is so vastly unfair that CU should have had a Tap-Out option available.

:wow: :wow: :sad1:
