Walking to the game last week with my bloody mary in hand I was asked by a cop if that was alcohol. When told him it was, he said that starting next week (A&M) they will be writing tickets for open containers when walking outside of a tailgate with a drink.

Maybe this is the PD's contribution to the buyout money needed.:smile2:

Just one more way the city of Boulder and the CUPD try and make gamedays a bad experience. The enforcement of **** like this is so hit or miss it's not even funny. I got an open container ticket a few years ago walking up Colorado towards the stadium. This year I have just seen the cop at the corner of Colorado & Folsom tell people to put their beers in the bin.

Just pick a ****ing set of rules and stick with it, you ****ers!

But if they did that, they wouldn't get to write as many tickets...

Wait. So where are you allowed to drink, and where are you not allowed to drink?

Exactly. They make it a moving target. All the better to write a ****load of tickets when they get the urge to do so.

WTF?!?!?!

Man, The People's Republic has become even MORE Communist since I left. ****ing Boulder PD! They have to be the most useless poilce department in the nation. Can't solve a 15 year old murder case, but DAMN can they bust people for drinking!
:finger:YOU BOULDER PD!
Going Sinker....

Sounds like it might have been CUPD that leash talked to. You walk across campus to get from sackygate to the stadium.

But Boulder PD does the same ****.

Boulder PD, Campus PD....doesn't matter. They're one of the main reasons why we are seen as one of the worst tailgate scenes in the nation.

Man, I HATE THOSE GUYS! Go do some real work rather than busting harmless "slightly" inebriated :)thumbsup:) fans at CU games!

Going Sinker...

And yet several hundred students can smoke weed out in the open every year while the police just stand and watch.

That's re-damn-diculous....definately cramps my style as I usually have 1-2 road beers as I'm walking from my tailgate site to the game....

Dumb cop stopped me last week with my screwdriver in hand....I answered, "It's just Orange Juice, sir"...and he believed me :smile2:

Also, make sure you don't try and drink after the game ends. Especially if you're 80 or older.

Hmmm... They are going to do something about people drinking before gameday, but when the stoners get together in April they just watch. Police in Boulder are about as big of a joke as the CU coaches are.

my buddy got a warning after leaving the tailgate. and we were near the umc at this point. the cops said they just wanted to go home.
