Poaching Other Schools' Commits?

Have to agree with Wulff on this one. Especially when he discusses the "your word is your bond," aspect.

Gotta wonder if he's targeting Skippy in this one.

Going Sinker...

I don't think there's ever been a more appropriate time for this:

Signing Day isn't until February.

Wasn't Washington St ranked a few years ago when we played them? Man, they have fallen apart (Worse then us) since then.

I think when we played them, they were running with the longest string of 10 victory seasons in the nation.

And then Price left.

"Wulff said he has heard the same complaints from other coaches in the conference. He added that he does not foresee the Cougs losing any commitments to other schools.

WSU has lost one player within the conference in each of Wulff's first two years -- cornerback Brian Baucham (USC) in 2008 and defensive lineman Geoff Meinken (Stanford) last year. Prior to Wulff's arrival, the Cougs saw Trey Henderson and Vincent Joseph switch commitments from WSU to USC with days left before Signing Day in '07 and '06."

Probably Slick Rick or Harbaugh (he seems like a "all is fair in recruiting" type guy).

In any case, if you aren't worried about losing recruits, then what do you care if other teams are doing it?

Happens all the time. That said, no one likes it when another team poaches one of your own recruits. Ain't gonna stop.

Note that there's a thread about "poaching" and "recruits", and without fail, someone brings up slick rick. He sure left an impression, didn't he?

Until they send in the LOI, they're fair game. The only thing a verbal does is make the receiving school keep open a scholarship for the player.

"Wulff would like the schedule to return to eight conference games. "

...he may get his wish once WSU is forced out of the Pac due to lack of football revenue :smile2:

C.U. lost DB Zack Craig to Stoolwater Oklahoma about a NY second after he commeted to C.U.

That's ok because he was not really as tall or fast as they said he was and we didn't want him anyway.

All kidding aside, he was waiting for an offer from his dream school, which happened to be OSU. The second he got it he committed to them. Can't blame a young man for going where he really wanted to go.
