Where positions should we be targeting for players to compete right away? This can either be through the JUCO ranks (sparingly) or high schoolers. My thoughts:

1. Placekicker. No excuses for this staff to whiff in recruiting this position this recruiting cycle. We need to be selling kids on the fact that they are going to legitimately challenge Goodman for the starting job.

2. Center. Still not convinced that Keenan Stevens is the answer long-term at center. And since he seems to have taken that job away from Iltis, we need to be looking at all options here. Hope the coaches are scouring the JUCO ranks for a guy to fill this need. Would prefer a December grad, but this position needs to be filled.

3. Tight end. We already have two high school prospects committed, but I still would like to see another TE in this class. This is another position where a JUCO transfer would make sense. That would allow Slavin and Favors to redshirt.

1. Placekicker (or PK/P combo). Nobody returning that has shown me anything to make me confident. The reports are good on Mooseknuckle, but I'd still like more options at both kicking spots.

2. Running back. Specifically a big back who can run with power. Mister Jones insurance.

3. Long snapper

4. Tight end

5. Cornerback. Jimmy Smith insurance

6. Center

7. Inside linebacker

8. Defensive tackle. Just so Syko will know I still care... :)

9. Fullback. Still think you have to have one

And no, I don't want us to recruit like KJuco. I can just think of a lot of positions where another more mature body would be nice....

QB - 2 commits is enough. We're done here.
RB - 1 commitment but we need 2. And 1 of them needs to play next year.
WR - 2 commitments but we need 3. They can redshirt.
TE - 2 commitments but we need 3. The 3rd guy should be a JUCO and play next year.
OL - 1 commitments but we need 3. Focus on tackles instead of interior linemen.
DT - 0 commitments but we need 2. And 1 of them needs to play next year.
DE - 1 commitment but we need 3. And 1 of them needs to play next year.
LB - 1 commitment but we need 3. They can redshirt.
CB - 1 commitment but we need 2. They can redshirt.
S - 0 commitments but we need 1. He can redshirt.
K/P - 0 commitments but we need 1 K. Needs to be polished enough to challenge for the job.

That's my 25 for this class. I'm cool if we have 4 or 5 guys who are athletes with this class, but what I have above is how I'd like to see their final positions shake out. (I'm kind of assuming that Moten ends up being a Safety in those numbers, btw.)

Looks pretty good. Although I think CB might be a good position to look toward the JUCO ranks for a guy whom can play right away. Not very comfortable with our depth there.

QB: pretty set already. Hansen with competition from Hirschman and Evans should be okay with Cody backing up.
RB: Need a guy with good size, I know we have Jones, but I'd like to see one more bigger guy. That kid from Michigan would be a solid get.
WR: Whoever we get can redshirt since we finally have some depth here. I'm still holding out hope for Paul Richardson.
TE: Depth is really bad, I'd love to see a JUCO on top of the two guys we already have.
OL: Don't know what to say about the OL, I think getting the best 5 out there and sticking with them in those exact positions, no flipping Miller and Givens game to game etc. A JUCO wouldn't hurt to add in here.
DL: I think we're actually in pretty decent shape here, except of course that we only one commit from a DL this cycle. Herrod, Kasa, West, and Obi should be a solid rotation for the DE spots. Cunningham, Pericek, and Bonsu should be a solid rotation for the DT spots. I'd like to see another guy in that rotation for DT to keep them fresh.
LB: Pretty good depth, we lose some but have capable players stepping in. I think Spond could make an impact as a freshman here if he comes.
DB: My biggest concern on the defensive side of the ball for next season. CB depth is questionable, especially if Smith leaves early. Hopefully Olatoye is the real deal. A JUCO here wouldn't hurt, some freshman could probably contribute right away as well.
K: We really need a new one, not sure there's anyone left to get though? We could have really used that Kip Smith guy.

We need a Free Safety with some cover skills and speed in the worst possible way. Other than kicker, it's our most urgent need, IMO.

Need a back who can double as a receiving threat (some height, good speed, and big hands).

Need to start building depth at LB, CB, OT, RB.

I haven't heard anything at all, but, what are the chances we get Simon back as center?

Would not be until next year at the earliest because he will have to get his Associate's Degree first before he has any shot at gaining admittance to CU.
