When we move the ball, we can score some points on a consistent basis. Obviously, we will not know how much the offense has improved until conference play, but it sure seems like the guys are finally getting Bz's system. Decent crowd last night too, even with a late start time.

Hope the ladies can continue it tonight against DU.

How would you rate our chances on the road against Oregon State?

Oregon State is going to be an interesting game. Winning on the road is always a challenge, especially a late game against the Pac-10. The Beavers are good on the defensive end, they give up about 60 points a game. This is going to be a really good test for the team. I like our chances, but it is going to be within 6-8 points IMO.

This is the part of the schedule where we need to go on a run. Lots of very winnable games coming up.

This would appear to be one of those games they need to win if they want any shot at post season play. You don't get too many opportunities in the OOC to improve your chances, but this is one of them. Plus, it should help with the whole "b12/pac10" series stuff.

Yep. This game and the road game against Tulsa are the two biggest tests left before big 12 play. We need to win at least one of them.

Ball movement was incredible last night. We had 20 assists on 31 made shots (and only 6 turnovers). We also had an effective FG% of over 60% (eFG% adjusts % on 3-pointers to account for their extra point value since 2 made 3s is equivalent to 3 made 2s).

I'd be shocked if we put up those kind of numbers against Oregon State. They're a big, athletic team that plays an extended 1-3-1 trap along with some pressure 2-3 zone. But if we move the ball well there will be some great open looks we can exploit. This game's really going to come down to rebounding and turnovers. We should be more efficient than them (points per possession), so we've got to avoid giving them extra possessions.

we may run an old school supposedly slow half court offense, but we run it pretty damn quick. Passing was phenomenal last night. I've watched a fair bit of college bball this year, and the Buffs look to be moving at a much faster clip on offense then many of the other teams. Keeping that up will lead to more 2d half runs like last night!

If you compare last nights team to JB's first two teams in Boulder, we are clearly much better. We don't struggle to score against anyone, make a high percentage of field goals, play good defense and shoot a high percentage of free throws. The only thing killing our team right now is rebounds.

The fact that I've seen people use eFG% stats on this board makes me love this place that much more.

Thanks to the basketball gods for a good start to CU Basketball... I need something to focus on other than CU Football.

The ball movement against USF was great. I really like how they swing around and when you think someone is open to shoot it with a defender running at him from a distance, he makes one more pass to a teammate standing all by himself for a wide open three. That's a big reason why the Buffs shoot is so well from three. Most of their shots are uncontested, wide open looks due to the ball movement.

This team is fun to watch.

How would you rate our chances on the road against Oregon State?

It depends on which OSU comes out tonight. Every month or so the Beavers get nasty. It's almost impossible to score when they're like that.
