Today's Denver Post has the All State Teams

One other note: What's up with All State Wide Receiver Rayshon Williams from Mullen? He's not in either the Scout or Rivals database. Is he playing another sport?

AJ - Thanks for posting this. No Bonnell?

P.S. Rayshon's profile has working links to Rivals, Scout & ESPN. Any chance you forgot to change criteria to "2011" when you did your searches?

The Post has Rayshon as a senior and it didn't occur to me to check 2011.
I'll put him as uncommitted junior.

I'll add Bonnell in - that was inadvertant.

Let me know if anyone else...?

These names also stood out to me, but can't say why:
Brock Berglun, Valor Christian
Colton Emich Holy Family
Andrew Eberle, Loveland
Josh Mitchell, Monarch
Cameron Smith, Wheat Ridge
Mitch Griebel, Heritage

Mitch Griebel, Heritage

Two way player at HHS. I got the feeling he was more of a HS star and that his talents wouldn't translate to the next level.

Heritage has a WR named Orptiz who was intriguing... big WR, but not a lot of offer

Shane Optiz, named all-state 4a Colorado as DB.
6'1" 175 lb senior.

If you want a profile up, we can do it. Think there's any mutual interest?

any word on the QB from longmont? i believe he was a senior and i seem to remember there was some thought about him being a D-1 prospect.

That would be Jake Johnson, according to the Post. And he was named the top 4A QB in Colorado today.

  • Ht:6'2"
  • Wt:215 lbs

He shows Colorado as a school of interest, but does not indicate any contact from us. Also: Wyoming, Washington, Kansas State.

Sounds like he was hopeful for a CSU offer at one time, but they took a QB out of California instead. On his profiles, there are no offers listed.

be interesting to know what the knock is on him that is keeping from getting an offer. thanks for the info though.

Yeah, he gets his team to the state championship (they lost to Heritage), he passed for 2145 yards this season and rushed for 1013.

Decent size, too. I'll probably never understand what coaches see and don't see, but often I think it's simply whether there is an adult helping the kid with his recruitment, getting stats and tapes out, etc. If a player is on his own with that, he might as well be invisible.

i wonder if he would have any interest walking on at CU? i would think he could probably pull down a scholarship at one of the better D-2 teams around though.

gorden cramer is still coaching at longmont though not as the head coach and he has pleanty of experience getting kids interest from D-1 schools over the years. however, its been a while since LHS has had legit D-1 talent and GC may have not kept up with what needs to be done with todays technology. i dont know. just kinda thinking out loud here....

It looks like Jake Johnson will either have to accept a non-D1 scholarship or walk on. He's not a QB at the D1 level, imo. Good, tough athlete. Could see him becoming a fullback/ H-back type or even developing into a linebacker.

Kenny Bell must be pretty good. He missed 5 games and was still on the all state defense.

Scout has an update on all-state Defensive Tackle Alex Bienemann
Ht: 6-2 Wt: 250
Regis High School

His Coach is Mark Nolan, who was recruiting coordinator for the buffs until this spring when he got the HC nod at Regis.

CO DT Sets first visit

Bienemann holds offers from Eastern Washington and UNLV, interest from Washington State, Southern Illiniois, Montana State.

His dad is a local newscaster (same last name, different spelling for tv.)
