Re: ’10 CO OT Alex Novosel

Novosel is [CU Commit] Kyle Slavin's teammate at Chatfield.

SCOUT Player to Watch (Colorado Preps)

Big Summer for Chatfield OL

Quote:
Along with his increased size and strength, Novosel has seen improvements in his speed, agility and technique. The improvement in Novosel’s technique is due to time spent at multiple college camps including Stanford, Kansas, Colorado and Colorado State.
Rivals lists us as medium interest but does not indicate if he attended CU camp. Stanford leads currently.

Re: ’10 CO OT Alex Novosel

So far it's looking like Novosel will be going 1-AA (Eastern Washington or Northern Colorado).

Rivals has a new update article on Novosel. He's a real big kid with an 81 inch wingspan and pretty good athleticism. I'd really love to land him as a preferred walk-on. If he decides to go the PWO route, we're competing with ASU and Minnesota. If he accepts a scholarship to a Big Sky school, I'd understand. But if we lose him as a PWO I'll be really disappointed. Hopefully Kyle Slavin is recruiting him hard for us. And we all know that Hawkins has been true to his word with walk ons to CU by giving them opportunities and awarding scholarships.

"I would like to go to a big school," said the 6-foot-7, 270-pound offensive tackle from Littleton (Colo.) Chatfield. "If I can go walk on at a big school and I would have a good chance to earn a scholarship, that would be something I would consider."

Northern Colorado, Eastern Washington and South Dakota have all offered him a scholarship.

Would not mind having this guy in the BnG....you can teach just about anything but size, and that's not a worry for this guy!

Novosel is visiting this weekend as a preferred walk on candidate. Be a great pickup for the Buffs.

Per Adam at Rivals:

Decision expected within the next couple weeks (unlikely to happen by NSD). If Novosel accepts a scholarship offer, it will be to San Diego. If he decides to accept a Preferred Walk On opportunity, it is between CU and ASU.

Let's hope he chooses to be a Buff. He could develop into a fine player.

I think you can pretty much eliminate ASU since he has not been on campus yet
