Alec Burks is 17 points away from being the #1 scoring freshman at CU

double entendre intended.

this kid is going to surpass Chauncey with his next bucket and is 16 points away from surpassing Richard Roby's 480 point he scored as a freshman.

If you haven't seen Burks play better get to it because he won't be here for all 4 years.

I think he can do, I was surprised watching his climb up the freshman ranks over the past few games. I belive he is only 1 point behind the great CB right now

Yep, trails CB by 1 and Roby by 16. Needs 2 and 17 to pass them both. He'll be second, no doubt about it. He'll have earned #1 if he gets it.

Burks is great and he'll deserve it when he passes Roby. But it has helped him a lot having an All Big 12-type player in Higgins here. Teams already knew they had to focus on Higgins which gave Burks the opportunity to get free early in the year and even now sometimes. It's great to have a two-headed scoring monster.

I still think Burks has a long way to go to be regarded as highly as he supposedly is for the pros. His outside shot is still suspect and he won't be able to get to the basket at the next level as easily as he has this year. He also needs to add some weight. I don't think he's close to how Chauncey was his sophmore year in his ability to take over a game or hit the big shot by going one on one.

I don't want to sound like I'm bashing Burks. I'm not. I think he's great and I'm extremely excited to have him at CU. I just think he has benefitted from having Higgins here. I think Alec has tons of potential and can get A LOT better. I look forward to seeing him develop. I think we'll have him at CU for at least two more years.

I agree, although I do think his sophomore year can be Chauncey like. Like you said he benefits from having Higgins around, and Relphorde has become a player that teams have to account for now as well. Put Shannon Sharpe's hopeful potential on there as well. If Burks has the same work ethic as Higgins does in the off season and develops his jumper, dude is gonna be lights out.
