Rivals rating: NR

ESPN rating: 89 grade; #52 PG

After reading various reports on Shamburger, here's a summary:

- Combo guard, but primarily a point guard who looks for his shot
- Lightening quick
- Major range on his jumper (money to 22 feet)
- Clutch shooter (Nike campers nicknamed him "Little Big Shot")

Shamburger had originally given a verbal commitment to Portland, but decided to open up his recruiting. Junipero Serra was a top 5 team in California and Shamburger was its best player. Bzdelik must really like him, because he wasn't recruiting a guard this cycle (was looking for 2 bigs and a wing/slasher type). According to a new Rivals article, Colorado coaches went to see him play in the state playoffs. We haven't offered yet, but apparently liked what we saw and we should expect a visit.

"I'm taking a real serious look at Colorado right now," Shamburger said.

Bzdelik must be pretty blown away by this kid if he's thinking of offering a guard this cycle.

Here's a brief YouTube clip of Shamburger just about breaking a defender's ankle with a move before calmly stepping back to drain a 3:

Rivals has Shamburger giving a solid verbal to San Jose State. It doesn't sound like the Buffs ever recruited him that hard due to our position needs being in the frontcourt. Good luck to him. Sounds like a good kid.
