Bzdelic and Wake Forest continue to screw us

I can't get into the Denver Post website, so if someone could link the article please?

Anyway, the gist of it is that Wake Forest will not pay the $500,000 buy out, leaving it up to Bzdelic to pay it out of his own pocket. It sounds like Bzdelic intends to try to stiff CU. Makes me despise him and the WF AD even more.

Northern Colorado athletic director Jay Hinrichs has no doubt he'll collect the $25,000 buyout owed by Colorado for losing basketball coach Tad Boyle to the Buffs.

"We're Kansas guys," Hinrichs said of fellow Jayhawk alums Boyle and CU athletic director Mike Bohn. "We'll all come through with our words."

Bohn, however, sounds less than certain CU will ever see the $500,000 owed by Boyle's predecessor, Jeff Bzdelik, for bolting to Wake Forest.

"I don't want to get into it," Bohn said recently. "We're involved in a process that behooves me not to say anything publicly."

That could mean CU, and its lawyers, battle their ex-coach for money. At times, the only thing more difficult than hanging onto your coach is collecting the buyout.

Oh great. Now CU gets to sick it's lawyers on the Baptists.

They'll lose, its just a question of when.

Just hope it doesn't become a question of mudslinging. I do not want to hear Bz's attorney question whether or not CU broke ground on the practice facility, legally speaking.

I'm sure Jeff wouldn't have expected CU to honor the buyout if we had fired his ass for having the worst record in the conference over the course of his 3 losing seasons. **** him.

and we forked out nearly a mil $ to buyout Bz and Hawkins.
Says a lot for our AD, doesn't it? My opinion of Bohn is slipping fast. If he lets Bzdelic and WF railroad us, I'll really be pissed. He needs to play some serious hardball.

 Seriously, or when we win the Big XII in 2 years after he convinces Burks to stay we will lose Boyle.

In a nutshell. Game set match on this quote. My opinion of Bohn is clear (I hope) so I won't get into it.

But ill feelings aside, Mike is the AD of the school that I love the most. He needs to not be a pusssy in this situation and go after that $500k. Obviously we need it (according to Mike himself), and I would hope that Mike's "under the wire" approach to breaking ground on the practice facility doesn't become the issue here. He DID wait as long as he could, but evidently he did what he needed to.

The Squirrel needs to pay up.

PS, some of us thought all along that Jeff Bzdelik was always looking past this job.

Now I happen to think the Squirrel will try to tie up the lawyers to shove the stick to CU. That's the kind of guy he is, folks!

It seems like Boyle is a much better man. I know that Boyle said the same thing Bzdelik did 4 years ago, but I'm glad the rodent left. Wake Forest is a nice University with nice people, but they can have this guy. The moral compass points elsewhere.

Anyway, considering the state of the program, I'm actually glad this happened this year and not next.

how much was the practice bubble? 3mil? right now, minus the 500,000 to Bz....we've got nearly 1.5 mil lost in buyout arrangements. half the bubble, which as we all recall was like root canal to get paid for and built. granted we were above board and Wake seems to be pushing this off on "ACC Policy" (wtf?).....but, still, that's a lot of money to throw out the car window.

What were the terms of the Barnett buy out? $3M lump sum, or is CU still paying that annuity?

Just hate to see CU expenses go towards rat holes instead of facilities and scholarships.

Take Bz to court, prove the case, get a judgement. If he won't pay, force WFU to take it out of his paychecks. There's really no reason he should be able to stiff CU unless they allow him to. WFU isn't really screwing CU, the buyout deal is between CU and Bz. If they choose not to pay it, that's between them and Bz...

I hope CU nails him to the wall if he tries to skip out on his contract...

My parents have season tickets at Maryland, so I believe I will be going back for the UMD-WF game with a big sign "Screw you Bzdouche, GO BUFFS!!" look for it the next day on Sportscenter

how about you let allbuffs pick the text on the signs?

Good plan Tante. This could be fun.

Maybe CU could hire Baine Kerr.

Rep for the Better Off Dead reference! Unfortunately, apparently all the Starbucks employees are too young to have seen this movie, because anytime I answer their total for my grande coffee with: "two...dollars..." I always get blank stares!

Exactly. A contract is a contract.
