CO LB Chris Martin leaving Cal

Sounds like a kid who was getting into trouble by associating with some bad people. Hope he likes nice peaceful boulder where the distractions are minimal

Come on kid, make CU and yourself happy. You'll still be playing in the Pac-10 (12). You'll get to Kalifornia at least once a year, and you'll be coahced by one of the LB coach's in the nation.

Easy decision... you know CU is the answer you were looking for!!

I've got no info on this one.

I'm not sure he liked living in Colorado all that much, though. But if he's trying to get away and be in a place where he's got the family support network, we're the perfect fit. Let's hope.

pretty sure that unless you complete your freshman year at your LOI school, you lose two years, whether its in or out of conference. I could be wrong though.

He did have a good relationship with our coaching staff, for what thats worth.

has he started classes at Cal? I think he could be let out of his LOI and sit one year, which he needs to do anyway to adapt to college life and get it going on the right track.

Bummer. Never understand why you would got through all the hassle of transferring just to become a small fish in a big pond.

I don't remember everything that happened with his recruitment, but didn't his mom have a problem with him going to CU? I thought she was trying to get him to a 'prestigious' university, so that when he graduated he would have an upper hand (and in the process said some not very nice things about CU)? Switching back to ND would make sense if his mom is still influencing him, but going to Florida would be the opposite of what his mom wanted (or was talking about).

Florida is not such a bad school. Most would even rank it well ahead of CU.
