Kansas State just canceled their 2011 opener with Oregon. An Oregon spokesman said a replacement game with LSU is 'in the works'.
Whatever happened to cupcake Bill?

Don't know if you can call this a major beefing up. Oregon ended last season ranked #11, LSU #17. Now if Oregon and LSU had played each other last year on a nuetral field I probably would have picked LSU but the point is that they are dropping one quality team for another (that will probably pay more money.)

If they dropped the scheduled games against Texas-San Antonio in favor of a SEC opponent then I would give them credit for toughening up the schedule.

As I read this, Oregon is replacing KSU with LSU.

You're suggesting KSU is playing LSU. Which is it? Why would an Oregon spokesman comment on a KSU schedule?

Same way I read it. KSU is probably adding some HS team. Orygoon is adding LSU.

Oregon is adding LSU. KState used the move to 9 conference games to drop the Oregon series. Look for cupcake Bill to wiggle out of the Miami series they have scheduled as well.

No, KJUCO is going back to its old ways. First Oregon is axed, then a scheduled future series with Miami (the good ones, from Florida) is reported to be canned as well. Wild Bill knows how to butter his bread. Ron Prince wasn't paying attention.

You are right, I got it ass backwards. Didn't read the article to verify the facts.

Snyder said openly in a thing i read on ESPN a few months ago that the OOC Prince had in place (with real, live BCS teams on it) was going to change. Darth S is going back to playing the Western Illinois of the world. that's his formula.

LSU, for an SEC team, is playing people. they play @ N.Carolina and WVU in Baton Rouge this season....which for an SEC team is murderer's row OOC compared to the steady diet of McNeese St's and LA-Lafayette most play. now, LSU adds Oregon and i'm pretty sure they have a series with Oklahoma in the next few years as well.

Can we assume that despite all of the soft-fluffies on the OOC, that KSU will continue to dominate Texas?

The KSU - Miami series has an interesting dynamic in that Miami's AD, Kirby Hocutt, played for Snyder at KSU in the early/mid 90s...I think the series was agreed on while Prince was still the coach, though...

I wouldn't say LSU is that much of an upgrade from Oregon. Right now anyway.

I wouldn't have a problem with CU scheduling 4 cupcakes OOC, or 3 cupcakes and CSU, which may or may not actually be different things...

I do think we should schedule CSU and Nebraska OOC every year when we move to the pac10.

you forget that Nebraska is too ***** to leave the state in September.

No surprise here. If B S continues to revise his schedules like this, kSjuco will lose the rest of what little respect they had among CFB fans. I for one think one, maybe two cupcake games are OK, but look at what they did last season. Won six games and couldn't become bowl eligable because of the cupcake schedule they played. Maybe they don't care anymore?

there was an article on Monday that KSU cancelled both the Oregon and Miami series and Snyder basically said that he feels the Big XII regular season was tough enough, he said that there were three teams in the top 15 last year--basically back to his old ways. Glad we always have at least one quality opponent every year and in this years case have two - I don't care if it does make it tougher when you win those games you are legit and it makes it way better for all of us fans who pay to see/watch the games.

I'll agree with you on that, but Miles is an enigma, when his teams aren't supposed to produce they do. Sorry I copied and pasted the post from an LSU board without reading the article first. LAZY

 pathetic. You would think they would learn after missing out on a bowl because they didn't have enough real wins they would change their thinking. I guess not..
