O Dominating the D this early?

From the BDC story about Bonsu:

Notable

The offense dominated the late practice Saturday featuring most of the veteran players. The offensive line led the way to several long runs for tailbacks Rodney Stewart and Brian Lockridge. ... The Buffs have one full-squad practice today at 5:15 p.m., and will be in full pads for the first time on Monday morning

Anyone else concerned about this? Usually the D tends to dominate early on. I know we have more experience on O than we do on D, but it just makes me worried that while our O might be able to move the chains (finally!) our D will have too many seams.

Is there anyway to possibly spin this? I'm trying to drink the kool-aid, but I'm having a hard time after reading that.

I think this will give everyone a better indication of where the O and the D are in terms of development/progress.

Not real worried as early as it is. On the other hand, our d-coordinator scares the hell outta me. Think we have some good talent, Im mainly worried about depth and injury in a few positions.

I don't think they've even practiced with pads yet.

The no pads things definitely alleviates some of my concerns. I did like how they are working a lot more on the fundamentals now (like tackling, ffs). I swore I wasn't going to get emotionally attached this year.

Argh!

Concerned because of that report? Every year either the offense is doing great or the defense and fans get worried one of them isn't up to snuff. Let them get in pads first. With hawk's teams you can usually spread the concern around evenly.

i watched both practices yesterday for short periods of time. there's no way anyone could make any conclusions about the D or O based in what they did in shorts and helmets.

until we see improvements on Saturdays I'm all for critical attitudes, but no way any lasting, abiding takes on the O v. D could be made based on what they did the last two days.

:yeahthat: But again, I really could care less about these practice reports. Every year we have a rosy picture painted by the press about how good they look in practice. Until the CSU game I'm not taking any of these "reports" seriously.

I heard the offense was cheating. Apparently, and this comes from a reliable source, the offensive backs and receivers tied their flags to their belts so when the defense grabbed them, they would not come off.

****ing finally.

I think NM is getting the bug. I've been getting worked up since practices have started.

FOOTBALL IS FINALLY HERE! YAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Yeah, definitely am getting the bug. Going to BW3 in a bit to watch the HOF game.

YEEEAAAAAAAAHHHH!

BTW, there were only 4 D-Linemen out there able to go and BJ walked off with a Hammy pull. So the 4 guys had to go against the O for awhile and they were in shorts. Hmm... time to panic.

Why did Ryan Miller allow BJ to leave practice! WTF is going on down there Holic!!!

According to the BDC, the D returned the favor last night.

from reading the practice reports, I'm starting to think we will be good this year, we have a ton of talent all over the field and our trenches should be good.

loving the back and forth between the sides. I always get worried if D or O is consistently dominating the other. I guess you could argue that if it's even between them we could just as easily suck equally on both sides of the ball but I am choosing to ignore that option.
