So I got an email from the head of the Austin chapter of the CSU Alumni group (I know, they HAVE one? :wtf:)

Anyway, it looks like he wants glom on to whatever we're doing and do a "joint" game watch. I know what my initial reaction is, but I figured I'd see what you guys think before I crawl out of the rafters.

Only if Joey Porter comes...armed. What could possibly go wrong?

We've done a few of those at the Dallas chapter. They crashed our watch party in 2004 & 2005 making up about 30% of the crowd. These were the two years where CSU had a legitimate chance to win, only to be denied in the last few plays of the game. The Rams fans joy throughout the first 59 minutes only made their ultimate dispair that much more pathetic. They never came back. Good times.

Go ahead and invite them and watch them suffer. CU is going to crush them this time around.

the question to ask is...what are they gonna do if you say "**** no"?

i'm for it, because we are going to ****ing kick their mutha****in asses this year...

I voted no because I can't stand lammie fans. Absolutely hate them... they are by far the most obnoxious and annoying fans around, and I can't imagine having to watch a whole game near a group of them.

I'm kind of in dio's camp, but at the same time, don't want to be a complete a-hole.

One more thing. A good watch party location is worth it's weight in beer. By bringing CSU to the joint, the management is more likely to cater to your needs the following week.

Getting butts in seats matter when different alumni groups are competing for the better TV screens and better seating arrangements. If the bar man makes a killing on opening day, you have a better chance of locking in the location for the rest of the season. No one likes to spend a season bar hopping from joint to joint.

Ooooh. I like this, only drawback is if we start to compete with Lammies the rest of the season since they have the mtn.

this happened a couple of years ago in SF where they were so floored by our turn out they prompt stopped being a USC bar.

That shouldn't be an issue. CSU fans lose interest in football after the CU game on the front range. What makes you think it would be any different in Austin?

The reason they want to partner with you is because they don't have critical mass to have an alumni group that could lock down a bar of their own accord.

Betcha the Austin Buff Club members could outnumber the NoCal Buff Club members.

okay...i am gonna have to stop this **** before it gets outta hand...

it is NORCAL....not ****ing "nocal"

"socal" is the correct terminology...but " nocal" is all ****ed up.

i know...liver started this **** a long time ago, but that ****ing bastard is dead wrong about this.

so get it right from now on muthakas....we are in the pac 12 now...

I voted no because once again they can't get enough people together to support their team so they have to piggy back on big brother CU. Let them go rent out their own place. CSU fans and alumni suck

Blah, blah, blah.
I'll care when those nocal bastards expunge "fly-over state" from their lexicon.

I'm ok with it as long as it's not this one kid that I knew who went to CSU. His name is Kyle. If it is not him, then we should be good. I'm still deciding whether I will be here, in Denver, or in Houston for the UT game that weekend. Any update on where you want to watch the games at this year?

i had to look up "expunge" and "lexicon" and i am still a bit fuzzy about what the **** you just said...

I'm here to help.
Expunge is when a lady takes out the goalie.
Lexicon is a someone serving time for Lexus theft.

GiA, your post and it's vagueness reminded me of this:

Yes. It's Norcal. I think I heard Jim Rome saying nocal the other day and was like, wtf?

Also, it's not 'Frisco. It's either San Francisco or The City.

You've definitely told me before that it is San Fran. I definitely specifically remember that exactly. Don't try to back out of that now. You know you said it.

We've often allowed opposing fans at the tailgate. The exception to this rule is fuskers. I don't allow fuskers at the tailgate. Ewe fans don't bother me.

Ewe's the experience to bag on the locals right there in the heart of Texas.

Maybe it'll turn into a brawl.

They probly wont rub it in too bad when CSU wins. We are pretty much used to it now, no big deal.

Well, considering that CSU fans were last seen stomping the logo at midfield I'd argue that:

a. If they win they'll likely rub it in.
b. Victories against CU haven't quite achieved "ho hum" status just yet.

Yea, they probly will a little, but it wont be anything that cant be handled. I still find it funny that CU fans (or security) didnt keep Ram fans off your field that day
