Good article re former UCLA Chancellor's comments

The one issue he has is that the Cal/UCLA game is All U weekend which means that the rest of the UC system schools are somehow involved which are something like eight other universities. I doubt that UC Santa Barbara or UC Riverside give a crap about that game. Recently I talked my UC Santa Cruz friend into be a Buff fan, and he said "Sure, no problem. Anybody but UCLA."

The article is by an SC blogger and it just confirms in my mind that SC fans are great fans. Once Buffs get away from Kansas St. fans and Nebraska fans they are really going to see a positive difference in the quality of the fan bases.

I've said this before, but I'll write it again.

Generally, I like people from all schools. Or that is to say, I like similar percentages of people from all schools which tends to be about 80% like, 20% meh. And generally I like to think that all state school (I'm aware that SC is private) college grads are roughly the same, aside from a few quirky cultural tendencies like eating runza if you attended nebraska or hunting raccons if you're from LSU.

But sometimes I encounter something I can only describe as a statistically significant anomoly which makes be belive that there is something else going on. For instance, girls from the University of Wisonsin put out sooner and more often than any other demographic I've ever encountered. That's from a decent sized sampling.

Girls from the University of Kansas tend to be insane...and not necessarily in a good way. I've known maybe 50, and each and every one has boiled a bunny.

And finally, I've never, ever, not once met a graduate from USC that I've liked. Not one. I've probably met over 100 of those dooshes and hated every one of them. I'm not kidding about this.

Also, I've attended several games in the colisseum, including vs. their supposed rivals UCLA. I didn't get a really exciting vibe from that place.

Just one man's opinion.

Wally, the other side of that coin is the experience i had last year at the coliseum. Went with my wife (Stanford grad) and watched USC get absolutely mud-holed by the Cardinal, even though Harbaugh was still going for it up 30 late every fan we saw ont eh way out wished us well and we even got a few please don't let Oregon go to the rosebowl cheers. They on the whole maybe dooshes (in know many that are) but they are decent fans. As for the fUCLA rivalry USC hasn't gotten up much for it recently because UCLA has been terrible. It would be like texas trying to get up for us.

Ditto. Of the 75 or so people I've met that went to USC, I've met exactly 1 that I liked. Same goes for the University of Michigan and Yale.

On the flip side, of the people I've met from University of Oklahoma, I've met exactly 2 that I didn't like.

I've often wondered if the 100 I knew were the only bad ones.

I've met one USC grad in my life. He's an asshole.

edit: I just remember two others. One of them is an asshole, the other a pretty cool guy.

So now I'm up to three USC grads that I know, two of which are assholes.

Growing up in Colorado, I was raised to hate everything LA. Lakers, Raiders(I still associate them with LA), Dodgers, Trojans, Bruins, Galaxy....

****'em all. :smile2:

My boss and went out to visit a client of ours in LA. It came out that my boss has two Ivy League degrees. This young kid piped up and mentioned that he had two USC degrees... almost as if comparing like things. My boss was kind of like... "uhh, okay." So you see, USC grads (Notre Dame too) compare themselves to the academic elite, when in reality they are closer to the rest of us state school kids.

You people are messed up

Here we are going into a new conference and first chance you get start bad-mouthing the most major Pac 10 program's fans. Why don't you wait and give them a chance first and see them in the stadium. 25% of my high school graduating class of 400 went to SC and I think of everyone, they've turned out to be the most decent bunch of people I know.

Beat L.A.? Nobody can beat L.A.!

we did in NBA hoops in 1983 and in ML Baseball the last 2 seasons....

USC grads that I know tend to be immoral enough to disturb me. And that is disturbing.

The path of this thread simply illustrates how bored we are. At least they start the closed practices again today so we can speculate on what may or may not be happening.

BTW, I am on the other side of the world so my lurking is the only way to "scratch the itch."

Philly fans also beat people to death in the stadium parking lot. Hey, I see that you got Wi-Fi there at 'Moe's Tavern.'
Didn't a couple of people get shot at a dodgers game over a tshirt or something? Ahh. Here it is. http://deadspin.com/5211675/dodger-fan-unable-to-dodge-knife

Fan misbehavior stemming from a club promotion early in the 2005 season led the Dodgers to hire uniformed Los Angeles Police Department officers to patrol the stands.

First off I just went to wisconsin.edu to fill out an application... I want to go there!

B) USC is mostly douches (I prefer this spelling) They drive really expensive cars and think their **** don't stink when in reality their **** smells way worse than the average dooosh

4) They have REALLY hot women that like to be treated like ****, so if you are a douche and you enjoy hot women that will never put out but really like spending your money then go crazy.

Just be advised that when I suggested that there was a large sample group, I wasn't referring to the number of women in the group.

That was a Giants fan stabbing a Dodger fan. L.A. fan was the victim. Giant fans are probably the worst on the West Coast. At a Dallas Cowboy game in San Francisco, a 49er fan shot and killed the Cowboy fan after the game.

Wrong. The Giants fan was the one who got shanked.

Denver teams are irrelevant to L.A. fans. They aren't hated, just no one really cares about Denver teams. But being a hater seems to go with your personality, so knock yourself out!

Yet everyone in LA seems to aspire to live in Denver one day.

Wisconsin is tremendously blessed to be getting a genius such as yourself.

Doyer fans are about 1,000 times worse than giants fans, sorry man.
