New depth chart out

Buffarino

Math - how does it work?

I didn't see a thread on this yet, so here it is. Anyone have thoughts on the depth chart? All I can say is it seems like a damn good thing we got Clemons, Richardson and Patterson. All 3 are in the 2 deep at WR, with Clemons and Patterson slated as starters.

Other than that, some things of note:

  • Beatty is running with the 2s at OLB. Hopefully this is because Ahles picked it up and not because Beatty isn't improving
  • West and Kasa running with the 2s at DE.
  • Looks like Orms is going to see a good amount of PT this year as Polk's backup and the #1 nickel back.
  • I really hope Speedy can stay healthy this year. Buffs went from a deep RB rotation to thin in the span of 1 year. Damn, why did Sumler have to bolt?

Clemons, Richardson and Patterson being in the two deep tells us quite a bit about last year's receiving corp. This year's WRs should be a huge upgrade.

All reports I've seen are that Ahles is pretty good and will see PT. I assume Beatty must still be a little inconsistent (although I like him as a player a lot).

The Kasa/West thing is disturbing.

The depth chart was released when Tyler was named the starter.

I am fine with trading Patterson for Sumler (which is basically what happened). To me, Sumler always went down at first contact. He never seemed to manufactor yards on his own. That is just my opinion, but I would rather have Torres try for the short yards this year than Sumler. I also don't want to have Sumler come in on every passing down to block. That got really old fast last year.

disappointed that Eugene Goree hasn't played well enough to be 1st string, we need his size out there. I know he will rotate in quite a bit, but it would be nice to see him start.

also we have 4 seniors on 1st string offense and only 6 total going two deep, for defense we have 4 seniors on 1st string for defense and only 5 going two deep, that is amazing how many young guys we still have on the field.
