Hawk deserves credit - CU fans now stand united

OK, I think we are all on board now. On board the ''Dan must go" bandwagon. I'm not going to feel sorry for him. He's $5 million better off than he was before he got here. At any rate, the writing is on the wall. All of our screaming, yelling, bitching, and moaning isn't going to make a lick of difference now. He's made his own bed. But screaming, yelling, bitching and moaning certainly makes us feel better, doesn't it? So, scream, yell, bitch and moan away.

But I'll bet us CU fans have not been this united, united for a singular cause, since, well, I can't even think of a time when we were more united. So, at least give Hawk credit for that.

Have any of you kids heard of "The Flim Flam Man?" Hate to admit it, but I feel like I've been flim flammed. It was a sad day when GB was let go whether you were a GB fan or not. But I think Buff Nation was collectively excited when Dan showed up at the presser with family in tow. A new day had dawned and CU was about to get back where it belonged. I, for one, bought in hook, line, and sinker. I bought in to "Hawk Love" and all that other BS.

So, I have to swallow any pride I have left and admit I was duped. Sad day, this.

Just keep repeating this mantra:

Dan Hawkins is a fraud.

Dan Hawkins is a fraud.

Dan Hawkins is a fraud.

**** you!

Man, were you ever wrong but, you stood tall in the face of adversity, you were in the fire while the rest of us never got in the game and..oh wait...um...anyway, welcome to the darkside!

Listen. I was all for making the change last year. I think if you could go back and look at the threads, it would be verified. But, when he wasn't let go, I just wasn't into all the negative ****. I started questioning, in my mind, Hawkins when I listened to his KOA show in, maybe, his second year and he was really a smart ass to fans that called in. I didn't like that. And he just hasn't handled the duress very well since. He has been way to flippant and arrogant. But I stood behind him because I felt it was best for the program, rightly or wrongly.

But now there is no chance in hell that he will remain. Its over. Everyone knows it. So, while I felt all the public sniping was bad for the program before, I don't see what more damage it can do now. But I'm still going to try to take "the high road." Pass the joint.

One thing I didn't consider enough before.

A lot of people complained about how Hawkins always blamed everyone and everything else for his failure to win rather than taking personal accountability. I couldn't care less about the politics of saying some of the stuff he has said and how a lot of Buff fans, ex-players and ex-coaches took it personally. Win and you can offend anyone you want.

But the part of this that I didn't think about enough was what type of leader this makes Hawkins. He's an excuse maker. That rubs off on his coaches and his players. It creates a soft, loser mentality that permeates the entire organization. He is an awful leader. He is a complete fraud. A man like him will never win. We would be better off if we didn't have a head coach.

This is the scary thing. He doesn't accept the blame and passes it off onto others. It was the same with Houston Nutt at Arkansas (and just look at how great he is doing at OM now... and how he blamed his DC Nix for the loss against Jacksonville St.)... the same crap... he needs to man up and accept his faults and errors. The fact that he hasn't in over 4 years in Boulder shows that he isn't cut out for this job.

Hawk also deserves credit with how amazingly consistent this team is. 5+ penalties to start every first quarter. Slow starting offensive execution. Poor O-line play, and absolutely zero emotion. This is absolutely Hawkins team from players to performance.

And that, my friends, sum it up for me! True leaders take responsibility. True leaders hold themselves accountable--not just point fingers. Remember this quote from Hawk: "Hey this thing was burned to the ground when I got here," meaning of course, "Hey, it's not my fault!"

I was still in Hawks corner until the OOC debacle last season but I guess I still had some hope that maybe, just maybe it could be turned around this season with the experience on the team. Now I am 100% in the fire Hawk corner and I don't think there is anything that could change that now, barring a miracle and I don't think even God could help this team with Hawk still here.

Seriously, WTF is Mike Bohn waiting for!!!!!!!!
