19 penalties in two games!

Givens needs to be in at RT, Bahktari has like 5 penalties in 2 games and solder has 2 or 3. Come on, after 5 years you can't clean this stuff up?
We have so many "little" things to work on, you can't expect them to get to everything in two games. Less penalties is #87 on the list of things to "clean up".
I believe it is just behind teach the o-line to block and find a running game that works, but ahead of find a FG kicker that can make a kick.

Agreed. Yet this team has more talent on it, IMO. How GB managed to win games those last couple of years I will never know. That guy wrung every last ounce of talent out of what he had to work with.
I think we have more talent now too. That is what makes this whole situation that much more awful!
I think we have a coach and media that has been blowing smoke up our asses and that our talent is not nearly as good as everyone is saying it is. Where is all this talent? Like specifically - which positions?
You may be right, but if pro scouts are coming in and saying certain players are going to play on Sunday in spite of their performance on Saturday that is pretty telling. It seems those scouts can see through all the coaching deficiencies and see that some players do have talent.
However, with all that written let me reiterate that you may be right.

True. Barnett was not the world's best recruiter, and only got worse with all the restrictions and bad press. But dammit, that guy could coach.

This. I think the defense has alright talent at LB and DB, and I think Speedy is a decent RB. Outside of that, where is this amazing talent on the team? I have yet to see a gamebreaker type player. I mean Patterson has probably been it, and he was #5 or 6 on another school's roster. I have yet to see the OL actually block somebody. I have yet to see the QB making plays (probably because he is running for his life most of the time). I have yet to see the DL getting a push. I have yet to see a solid effort. I don't care what a guy has done in practice, or if he has nice measurables... doesn't mean crap if he can't do it out on the field. Only so much of that goes back to coaching, some of it has to do with just not having the talent (which can also go back onto the coach for poor recruiting).
