Have we ever had a great game plan under Dan?

Honestly, I can't remember one. Against Cal, we just looked totally lost. Even worse was the inability of the staff to make adjustments. Game in, game out, we take the field totally unprepared. We ALWAYS seem surprised at what the other team is doing. Just frustrates the hell out of me.

Maybe the OU game. Division 2 Danny even showed some emotion in that one. Sadly, we havent seen it much since.

I was thinking about OU. But that seemed more about the stars aligning than a great game plan. But its been so long ago, I don't remember much about it.

As great as that win was, OU made a bunch of key errors in the 4th quarter and basically handed us the game - our win had more to do with their own mistakes and less to do with any brilliant game plan of Hawks...

No, but for some reason it's taken you until these last 2 games to realize we need a much better coach.

Yep.

You tell me DBT, you've been the one defending this guy for so long. Don't think we haven't forgotten.

You are both wrong. I haven't been defending Hawkins, I've been getting pissed at all the negativity, screaming, yelling, and whining going on here. Go back and look. I was all for firing Hawkins at the end of last season. When the decision was made not to fire him, I decided the best thing for the program was to get behind him. My philosophy was that airing all our dirty laundry on a pulbic forum would only hurt the program. I've never been a huge Hawkins fan other than when he was first hired.

You guys misunderstand and misrepresent old DBT! I am but a voice of reason!! :smile2:

Spin it DBT keep on spinning.

We haven't had a game plan, much less a good one, since sh*t can dan got here. He doesn't believe in game plans. Much easier to be the bow as opposed to the arrow that way.

CU had a great game plan against Miami of Ohio.

Execution is a bigger problem than game plans.
When you go down by a few scores and are forced to play catchup, the game plan goes out the window.

I seriously think playing catchup is part of the gameplan every week.

A game plan involves scouting the other teams' tendencies, finding their weaknesses, and exploiting them. Hawkins has no freaking idea how to do this. Need I remind you all of Missouri? Every damn team on the planet knows how to play them - except us.

Georgia in his first season? Ok, it was one of Stafford´s first starts and he couldn´t get **** done ....

IIRC, Stafford came in in relief in that game and pulled out the W for them. He didn't start.

maybe @nebraska in 08? at least the long pass to Geer to open the game and the early lead.

OU was up 17 and fell asleep thinking about UT and then we made some plays, got heat on Bradford, he got rattled and they wet the bed.

remember that 07 D also had Wheatley and Dizon. TWheat took Malcom Kelly completely off the board. Bradford folded without his go-to guy once he didn't have time to go through the reads.

Since div II Dan has been here, his best games are from seasons where he had players left over from the coach that burned things to the ground. That is all you need to know about Hawkins game plans.
