Gary Barnett at Georgia game?

I suspect he will be helping Mac on the sidelines during the game and won't be able to take part in the celebration.

Can we have him temporarily take over the team till the end of the season? I know that it would never happen but I would bet that Barnett could get at least 6 wins out of this team, I will be surprised if Hawk gets more than 3.

Can you imagine the awkwardness of a rousing standing O for GB at the Georgia game?

I don't know why he wouldn't. He was an assistant coach on the 1990 team, and was the offensive coordinator in the Orange Bowl. He deserves to be there just like all the other coaches who were on that team.

sad to think in about 02 I really thought we were on course to really take control of the North. However, I also know from working at CU that things *were* a little out of hand at the Dal. Not institutionally organized rape out of hand, but kinda dicey.

I like Gary. If he wants to be there....I don't think anyone should have the juice to keep him away in his capacity as OC of the National Champs.

The stench of the "scandal" is still with him, I don't think he'll be anywhere near the team for the UGA game.

Let me start by saying that I like GB and I wish him the best. I hope he comes back to CU for celebrations, and doesn't have any bitterness towards the university.

However, I must say that in addition to having this "stench of the 'scandal'", GB was not the best recruiter. I actually think that Hawk is better of a recruiter given a winning program...of course, which he has failed to produce. GB recruited some talent, but he did not close down state borders, nor did he get the caliber of recruits I thought he should be getting.

GB is more than capable of producing a competitive team. However, CU wanted a "return to dominance", not competitiveness. GB failed to do that towards the end of his tenure - his last game showed it. Still, I wish him nothing but the best, and CU is indebted to his work for the program.

Gary was the sacrificial lamb offered up after the psuedo scandal. Who know what he could have put together had he not been hamstrung by the recruiting sanctions.

My biggest fear is that we may go through 2 or 3 more "Hawks" and by then the damage could be unrepairable. With this administration that actually could happen. GB may have never led us to dominance but we were respectable and Saturdays were fun most of the time. Now I wish the season was over with already and I am running out of stuff to break.

I was ready to see Barnett go after recruiting took a nose dive after Bienemy left but damn Div 2 Danny is making him look pretty good right now.

Would be nice to see him and Gerry D on the sideline (coaching? I wish.) But their media jobs make that a working day, doubt it.

Big XII North Title and Big XII North Title.

From where we sit now, that looks a little bit better. (But still not good enough)

Iowa State had to choke away 4th quarter leads in their last game in both '04 and '05 for the last two North titles to happen.

Iowa State and Colorado battling for a division title...if I hadn't witnessed it first-hand, I would think you just made that up.
