That I'm about to rehash a number of sentiments that have already been discussed following the Cal debacle.

I've been in Tuscany without internet access and couldn't see the game (via Slingbox DVR) until Tuesday. I got through ten minutes and then a lightning storm took the electricity. When it finally came back on I just googled the score, I couldn't watch anymore of that garbage.

A few thoughts (keeping in mind I haven't been particularly harsh on Coach Hawkins, historically):

--When we were a national champion caliber team, we used to beat very, very bad teams by scores like 52-7. So even if Cal is awesome our performance was a disaster.

--Two years ago (?) Hawk mentioned that we were just 10 plays away from a great season. Well if he could identify that, it seems that the situation was very, very correctable. So either he misdiagnosed the film he watched from that season, or hasn't been able to teach the execution to fix those 10 plays. Either way, it's inexcusable.

--I'm so embarrassed that our first Pac 10 game after our acceptance looked like that. So embarrassed.

--A headline in mentioned that he was "surprised" by the team's performance at Cal. Guess what? If you've got a winning record with a football program, you're allowed to be surprised. But if your record sucks balls, it's not a luxury that you're afforded. You don't get to be surprised when the team that you're totally responsible turns in another ****ty performance. So don't say **** like that please.

--Based on the things that I witnessed in my horrifying ten minutes of CU/Cal football, the problem can't just be what Coach Hawkins says it is. It's not something unique to the Boulder situation. There may well be challenges that our program faces that others don't--I'm not disagreeing there. However, the crappy football we're seeing--the penalties, the uninspired performances, the inability of players to know what they're supposed to do--that's coaching, man! Nothing else. Just coaching.

--I just can't ****ing believe this ****ing bull****. What the ****? What.the.****??

--Before last year I was critical of fans who said they'd rather pursue other activities if the on-field-product didn't improve. I no longer feel that way. Fans don't deserve to be treated this way. Go do what you want to do. Good on you for having the balls to disregard a program that no longer gives a **** about the product you pay to see.

--God bless the players--I know they work very hard, but what's wrong with them? Why can't they get fired up and play smart football? Can somebody who played football for CU give me any insight on why a team with some talent and experience would consistently come out looking like dog****? Is it just coaching, or something more?

--I swore I'd never root against CU just to **** over a coach. But if I knew that a loss against Hawaii would definitely usher a regime change, I'd root against my beloved Buffs for that one game.

--It's not that I belive a new coaching staff is going to turn this thing around immediately and make everything rosy. It's just that I want to show the rest of the football watching world that my school, my athletic department and our fans actually give a ****, and want to do something to make this better. Just show the world that we're invested in this thing. ****!

I can handle the losing as long as CU is competitive...but I cannot handle losing like what CU did at Cal. The coaches put the players in bad situations and got whipped. I'm not trying to say I have the same attitude that Cubs fans have about their lovable losers...I just want CU to compete and that's all I'm asking for.

I can't handle the fact that we look like the exact same team when Dan took over 5 years ago. If we played Montana St right now, I'm not so sure that we would win.

You have a lot more to say sorry for than that, you tree****.

So you weren't around to see or hear it live eh?? You're one of the lucky ones then.
One thing I thought was interesting from your post was that if you knew for a certainty that if the Buffs lost to Hawaii, Hawk was guaranteed to be gone, you would root for Hawaii.

I think I would too. Desperate times call for desperate measures I guess

It shows that our coaches aren't watching the little things which turn into big things. Possibly the reason for all those road trip losses for the past two years.
It truly boggles the mind.
