Cu defense.....

I don't care if hawaii threw for over 300 yds, teams that throw that many times are going to get their yds but man, this defense holding hawaii to 3 pts in the 2nd half and 13 for the game is damn good. Especially when the had two 1st and goals inside the 5 and came away with zero points.

Kudos guys, nicely done.

They need to work on their tackling. That first play Hawai'i had = gasher. Fortunately, we were able to get to him and stop them.

They should have been up 21-0. Great job D. RC played a soft zone all day. We do that against Mizzou and we are going to get whooped.

Oh, and nice safety. Pericek had a great day. Hurries and a sack by the big DT.

Red zone D was good to see. Still some spotty coverage by the dbs and and some poor tackling.

Was scary that we almost lost 3 nickel backs in 3 games.

Yeah, we played soft, especially on the corners. Wish jimmy would have got that pick but overall, to hold them to 13pts is damn good.

I was glad to see that, as the field shrank, so did the wide-open spaces that the Hawaii receivers were used to. Put them in a cramped up space, and CU's Defense looks great.

yup! again the O put them behind the 8 ball and more often than not, they went out and shut down hawaii. for any D to be put those situations is difficult. nice job by those kids. and, they finally got some help from the O in the 2nd half. 'bout freaking time.

Spot on...rep.

the defense showed some real guts and character today.

Question: How many sacks and hurries did they end up with??????

Our defense was put in the corner a few times, but kept us in the game during the 1st half. Those stops in the redzone were key.

Those 2 goal line stands were impressive as well as the safety. My worry is how bad did Vigo get hurt? 3 weeks, 3 nickel backs down

Per the article on cubuffs.com, Vigo is out 4 to 6 weeks with a lower leg injury. Maybe we should just stop using a nickel back??????

It is a snake bitten position. Madden Cover levels. Welcome Mr. Jonathan Hawkins.

I thought the D played good and kept everything in front of them. I was happy they didn't let Moniz get his feet going and beat us with his legs. I think Collins and Co made the decision to make sure the kept him in the pocket. He made a lot of yards with his legs against SC and almost beat them until he was put out with a head hit.

Under RC QBs that can run have proven very hard for us to beat. Chase Daniels. Todd Reesing. Colt McCoy. RG III could have a big day.

They all had a couple of things in common. 1. They were accomplished passers, and, 2. They had serious receiving threats.

However, your point is taken. He may be more dangerous than Moniz. I wonder if the injury has hampered his mobility this year?

Hard to tell. A torn ACL is tough to recover from. The guy isn't probably as explosive as he was and I bet he's very cautious. He doesn't really turn the ball over though. It could be a game of field position...and CU is bad at the field position game.

Baylor fans have written they see impairment, and the debate is between "severely" and "moderately", and others write about fear of future injury. But he's still a QB that can be shadowed easily enough if a good tackling DB's interested in doing that. TCU had an easier-than-predicted time with him, though.

Yeah, that's gotta be tough. Especially since he's handling the ball on every offensive play. I wonder if the coaches have limited the number of designed runs/options because of the injury.
