Corn_Fan's right in a lot of ways - I was just commenting on the Austin spin on our schools' respective departures form the Mack 10.
Another big reason why Nebraska's paying more is because they only gave the one-year notice, whereas we gave two. And NU giving the one-year notice gave CU a GREAT starting position to begin negogiating our exit. Had Mack 10 and Beebe demanded 80% from us to get us out in 2011, it would've been breach of contract on their part since we had played by the rules on the two year notice. As it played out, rough and dirty numbers suggests that we only have to pay 50% of one year's worth of revenue. Not too shabby when we were initially staring at paying that 50% on two years' revenue.
Anyway, like Corn said, it's all business, it all worked out for the best, and I'M ****ING PSYCHED TO BE OUT OF THIS ****HOLE OF A CONFERENCE AND OFF TO THE PAC-10(12)!
And congrats to NU for showing the Mack 10 the finger too!
